Farron enters faster territories on this record, telling the story of the hunt after the mysterious jade antique that is hidden in the infamous „House Of Traps“. 
After entering the house, one already feels the oppressive atmosphere. The ubiquitous feeling of not being welcome here is obvious when the golden walls invert and you come to face countless swordsmen ready to attack. The vigorous atmosphere of „Penny At The Chain“ boosts up your confidence for what is about to come. 
But what if the intruder is skilled in kung-fu? The mob retreats automatically and bars of iron come down to confine you. „Wilshire 1015“ and its driving bassline, warm pads and whirling breaks will calm you down a bit. But what’s next? 
In the twinkling of an eye, a field of razor-sharp nails come through the floor that you are standing on, and the escape route up the stairway becomes perilous as the stairs suddenly form into an array of sharp blades. „Hiatus Phase“ keeps you focused and light-footed, so you can manage the jump up to the next floor. 
However the next stirring event quickly follows. The moment you feel safe, a giant golden net unexpectedly launches from every direction and traps you in the middle of the room, hung over the floor. As if this wasn’t enough, the mob is rushing back again - armed with bows and arrows. But the varied atmosphere of „All In CST“, its floating pads and filtered breaks energize you, and so you are able to make a getaway from the most lethal attack. 
After dodging the giant blades suddenly swinging in from each side, you are finally there. The golden cage and its arcane content. The warmth of „Conback“ and its sparkling pads slowly fill the room as you open up the cage. Another trap, or a bright future? Find out…

„The Flying Guillotine 2“ is the bloody sequel to Serenace’s first appearance on Shaw Cuts in 2019, continuing the head-lopping violence with a group of freedom fighters lead by the heroic Ma Teng battling against the evil despot Emperor Yung and his reign of terror. 
Teng has developed a protective device, similar to a spiky metal umbrella, that allows him to defend against the deadly flying guillotine attacks of the violent regime. „Current“, its bombastic drum patterns, razor-sharp synth waves and vicious vibe strengthens the rebels to resist the brutal assaults. 
But the Emperor immediately reacts, creating a double flying guillotine to counter Ma Teng’s iron umbrella and the rebel union is left defenseless again. „Aiming From A Distance“, a vivid breakbeat cut combining rolling percussion, arpeggiated synth chords and sirens from hell, raises the rebels' hopes to give them another answer. 
Secret insurgent Na Lan infiltrates the Emperor’s inner circle by gaining his trust with a group of female warriors whom he allows to train with the flying guillotine palace guards. However, Na Lan only wants to steal the plans of the improved weapon and deliver it to the rebel squad, in order to devise another counteracting force. With the crisp bassline and the energy-filled breaks of „Test 21“, the rebels can gain an insight into the elaborated guillotine and find a possible way to defeat it.
Farron’s profound techno version of „Current“ brings in the necessary tension for the final showdown. The improved double flying guillotine VS a new secret defensive system. Will the rebels be able to team up and defeat the tyrant once and for all? No matter what happens, the saga continues.

Tessen were folding fans with concealed outer spokes made of heavy iron plates. Some swordsmanship schools provided training of the tessen as a weapon. Besides using the razor-sharp spokes as an attacking tool, the tessen was also used as a throwing weapon, for fending off knives and darts and as a swimming aid. Samurai could also secretly take them to places where overt weapons were not allowed.

„The Flying Dagger“ is Cressida’s first release on Shaw Cuts, which deals with themes of greed, revenge, honor, chivalry and the internal struggle between good and evil that exists within all of us. 
Yu Ying happens upon the scene of an atrocity and double murder. She outrageously kills the perpetrator, who is the son of the infamous Green Dragon Clan boss Jiao Lei. The broken rhythm and heavy hitting drums of „Cat’s Claw“ shine a light on the shocking act of violence.
Upon learning the surprising news, Jiao Lei proclaims war on her and attacks Yu Ying’s father Yu Yuan who manages to escape with his children although he gets severely injured. The pounding drums of „Radiate“ and its thrilling ambiance boosts up the family’s energy and keeps everybody safe.
The pursuit is on and Jian Lei is hell-bent on killing them all, preferentially with his throwing knifes. However, he is thwarted in his plans by the emergence of the mysterious stranger Yang Qing whose ability to throw projectiles rivals that of Jiao Lei. 
„Medusa“ and its percussive lunacy paired with unexpected groove twists guide our hero through times of many tough challenges and evil encounters.
Chief Jiao tries to tempt Yang Qing with money to join his Green Dragon Clan, but our hero can’t be bought. With the help of the furious „Do I Stay“ and its steamroll drum pattern, pushing bassline and raw atmosphere, he comes to the rescue of several victims of the Green Dragon Clan instead.
Yang Qing uses his martial proficiency to fight on the side of society, but is he strong enough for the rousing finale? The bass-heavy vibe of „Let the Devil In“ and its swirling vocal cuts blended with funky breaks and warm pads, send out one more energy before everything is heated up to the max. Step further!

Honoring your pain will teach you self-forgiveness. You should be able to feel the kindness within you and experience all the love you have for yourself. You will feel a conflict between the instinct to heal on your own, and the desire to accept the situation and seek support to get healed. You prove that you have an unwavering determination to get healed by choosing the latter. When you want spiritual healing, you have to place your faith in the universe, too. 
Surrendering the pain means releasing the pain and seeking support from the universe. It will help you ease your sufferings.
The negative ego vanishes from within you and makes your heart feel lighter once you release your pain. This is a sign of spiritual wellness. You will start to feel a deep openness towards things and think with a peaceful mind. You will become whole again and you will develop the ability to deal with the disruptions of your life with tolerance. The inner peace will be restored. Feal.

Serenace, a mysterious duo based in Chicago and Berlin joins the Shaw Cuts squad with “The Flying Guillotine“ – a weapon shaped like a hat with a blade rim and chain attached. 
The weapon serves to brutally quash any defiance against the ironfisted Emperor Yung and his regime. The enforcers are twelve specially trained fighters, The Flying Guillotine squadron. “Sheltered In Absence“, its pushing drums and energetic synth elements, chimes to the cruel deeds of the squadron. 
The guard Ma Teng flees when he witnesses the brutality unleashed by the men and the lethal weapon. The raging emperor commands his fighters to capture him, but Ma has disappeared into thin air. „Vitrine“, a diverse groove combining swinging percussions and warm melodies circles over head, helping Ma to stay undercover. 
The slaughter continues as the squadron relentlessly search for Ma. Ma turns back and confronts the army. Equipped with his own deadly weapon, he joins forces with Kreggo and his „2in1“ remix version, wiping out the squadron one by one.

Her vision was hazy as she lay back amidst the long grass. It was peaceful and quiet out here in the middle of nowhere, she'd missed that. She zoned out as she began to think of the chaos of the city a million miles away, it had never been her home, more so a resting place. This was where she belonged, in the wild open spaces and the bleak outback of the North. She closed her eyes and listened to the birds chirping in the late afternoon sunshine. She fell asleep...

Marguerite Records are releasing a compilation in support of the Niguarda hospital in Milan in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. It features a wonderful collection of music from some noble musicians to have been happy to give to the cause. This is a track from Pasiphae taken from the release.

Barcelona based Carlos Sicrock, known to some simply as "Pasta" or "Carlitos", is a perfect example of how the Spanish and Catalonian cultures seem to produce such passionate Electro producers. Perhaps you could say it's a bit of a balance between having been right in the middle of the expansion of the sound through the 80's and 90's as many of the old school and new school artists of international fame have visited the region, not to mention the sound has always had its share of popularity with its people. But also that in some ways they have also been "cut off" from the true epicenters of this music, making them perfect spectators of the sound and culture.

With New York, Los Angeles, Miami and London being hotbeds for this sound and where the majority of the pioneers originated from, to some degree it could be said that aspiring artists and lovers of the sound in Spain and Catalonia couldn't help but observe in amazement as Electro grew to become such a global phenomenon, going on to influence music in general in so many ways, and giving them in particular a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the music that is evident in the productions to come from the region year after year.

Carlos remembers growing up in a large family that was very musically diverse, offering a broad enough palette of listening that everything from the sounds of James Brown to Pink Floyd, passing through Supertramp and Heavy Metal bands like Judas Priest would give him a very open mind to many styles of music. But none would impact him as much as the emerging sounds of Electro. He recalls, saying that: "I started listening to Electro, and from the first moment I was totally hooked. I remember the first time I heard Cybotron, specifically the "Clear" theme, [also] Hashim, Warp 9, Man Parrish, The Jonzun Crew, and Afrika Bambaataa".

He goes on to explain of a time when Afrika Bambaataa came to play at the Amnesia club in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Catalonia, and getting a chance to breakdance for him. "When they closed the album, you could break dance for them while they collected the synths and other stuff, they freaked out but I did much more. To think of all the times I had danced to the theme Looking For The Perfect Beat, Planet rock, etc., and now they were the ones congratulating me. It was something of an eternal emotion".

Since then, Carlos Sicrock continues to gain momentum as a devoted Electro artist with a keen sense of how deep this sound can go, and why it's worth every bit of blood, sweat and tears to keep digging.
