Paranoid

Shawnda is an American R&B recording artist and songwriter.  Her sound is textured with powerful lyrics and melodic hooks that include elements of Hip Hop, Soul and Pop.  Some of her music influences are Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and Monica.

A California native, Shawnda was born in Fresno where she was raised in a musical family. Her parents exposed her to Soul, Rock, Gospel, Blues and even Country music.  “My first love is R&B but I also grew up listening to Hip Hop, Rap and Pop”, said Shawnda who started writing poetry in high school and later expanded her talents as a songwriter. 

An independent recording artist, Shawnda is working to make her mark on the music world. Her lyrics are meaningful with solid grooves and are easy to relate to like 
her latest project ‘Paranoid” which features Jeff Dixon is an upbeat R&B – Hip Hop anthem.  “People will be able to relate to this song because everybody has haters but we have to keep going”, she said. Shawnda is currently working on new material for her upcoming EP.
