This one's named after an ongoing DC comics title that ties into the Green Lantern books. 

Red Lanterns is currently being written by a dude named Charles Soule, and he's doing a crazy good job at the moment. All of his books are great, so go check him out if you want a healthy dose of fantastic comics.

Named after Matt Kindt's Mind MGMT comic, which is one of the best creator owned titles currently on shelves. The watercolour art is fantastic, and the storytelling is awesome. 

If you like serial mystery shows like LOST, you'll love Mind MGMT. Especially for all of the little easter eggs scattered around each issue. Mind MGMT is a book for those who want a little more depth than that which most big name comics contain.

So here's something unusual. I scored an 8-bit game not long ago and, to my delight, the game happened to be western-themed. So that's what all of this is. In order, we have:

- Title sequence
- Level 1
- Level 2
- Level 3
- Boss
- Kill Screen

There's a few more tracks not added, like fanfare, but no one wants to hear that. I composed all of the SFX too but those have been left out.

If you're a fan of Dragon Ball, you should be watching Dragon Ball Super right now. It's pretty rad. Kind of surreal that after all these years, we're getting new Dragon ball content. More surprising? It's actually REALLY GOOD. 

Everything is is getting rebooted or relaunched these days, and I hear a lot of complaining (from myself as well, sometimes) about it. But each Saturday night during every episode of Super, when I realize I feel like a kid watching cartoons after school, I forget that I ever cared about re-this and re-that, and just want good content.

And Dragon Ball Super delivers.

Just a quick little loop for fun. A little less intense than the other stuff but I think it gets the point across.

Crystal Plains

Love it or hate it, you can't deny LOST's impact on the way we enjoy television serials today. Without being spoilery, this song is indeed about Ben from LOST. He may or may not have had a literal paper tiger, but the phrase is much more meaningful if you understand the underlying message beneath the words. It might help if you watched the damn show too.

The thing about LOST though, is that it's not in syndication any more. This makes it impossible to absorb the extravagant, jam-packed experience that was the program. When in syndication, no one knew how it was going to end. Assuming the writers had woven the entire story prior to telling it, we followed them assuming they were truthful. This made for an extremely enveloping viewing experience. 

Why?

Well, I and many others couldn't get enough LOST. We had to theorize. We had to discuss. But most importantly, we had to share. I can't count the number of online (and not so online) communities dedicated to LOST 24 hours of the day. Message boards, subreddits, chat rooms, Facebook pages, basements and living rooms... they were all places to go after an episode and talk about what happened, how each piece of the puzzle fits with it's counterparts, and what's next. 

You can't really do that now. And half of the fun that made LOST what it became, was sharing your ideas and theories. Even debunking your ideas and theories. Having to wait a week between episodes (and months between seasons) gave us time to think and talk. With the entire series now readily available at the push of a few buttons, there is no wait time. No time to think and theorize. It's just "on to the next episode."

So if you had the good fortune of enjoying the show during syndication, and you interacted with the content as much as I ,and thousands of others, did... know that the experience is non replicable. And that makes it something special.

Anyway I really fucking love LOST and this is a song about what Ben did to my favourite character. That god damn bugeyed jackass.

Covering another Bad Religion classic, as it was requested by a whole lot of you. Any other requests, just send me a message and I'll add them to the list. I'm considering doing some NOFX songs too... in fact, I'm working on one of theirs right now. It's one of my favorites, but... it's a LONG one.

I Want To Conquer The World - 8Bit Bad Religion Cover

Sorrow. Probably one of the best Bad Religion songs of all time, and easily the most challenging to reproduce. Hopefully it turned out OK. I've lost all perspective on this one.

Without giving too much away, I can say that the next 8bit Bad Religion cover song is off Suffer. It's one of my all time personal favourite BR tracks too.

I've got a nice little surprise in store for early June as well. 8Bit covers from one of the best punk bands of all time. 

Let's just say their band name starts with NO. Actually that's too obvious... let's just say their band name ends with FX. See if you can figure it out.

Another one for the originals bin. Named, at random from my bookshelf, after the 7th volume of a comic series called Y: The Last Man. It's about a plague that wipes out all living organisms that contain a Y chromosome. All except for a man and his pet monkey. It's an epic quest kind of story with great art. Highly recommended.
