Yep folks, here it is! 

The recording of the very 1st Ecstatic Dance set I played for my favorite ED tribe in the Netherlands. I felt so incredibly tensed to play live for an audience after so many years again and was nervous as f#ck. Despite all the tension I did manage to pull it off and to be honest, way beyond my personal expectation as well as the expectations of the audience. 

It was a total blast and the place literally turned into a wild mad monkey playground, also thanks to all kinds of animal samples that were coincidentally hidden in this mix. I love it how Spirit takes care of such synchronicities without me planning it. It was a truly unforgettable Ecstatic Dance edition that also really put me in the picture as a DJ again, for which I feel very grateful as there's honestly nothing I love as much as giving people the best time possible on dancefloors.

I'm not sure if 'celebration' was the right word with a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Taurus while the Sun was transiting the last intense degrees of Scorpio, but it sure was a moment that sparked my creativity.

It became a beautiful musical adventure, with so many different musical styles and different cultures passing by, while having a laugh here and there as well. 

May it serve as a reminder of how rich this world and humanity is in regards to all kinds of different cultures and their inherent music styles. It feels important to emphasize this in times of so much division and separation. 

May this Ecstatic Dance mix, dance & music unite you with many others during countless precious moments, be it at home, on the road, somewhere in nature or on a magic dancefloor somewhere.

Here's the next Ecstatic Dance mix, which is a collection of tunes I've been playing out on those magic ED dance floors over the past few months. Unfortunately I somehow always forget to record the live-gig, but this way you'll be able to get at least a bit of an impression of what I throw on the decks here in the Netherlands.

It became a beautiful gradual build-up towards proper dancefloor madness the way we all love it so much. And yes, I  hope you somehow really dig this mix and collection of awesome tunes by quite a few of my most favorite artists.

DJ Shawnodese - 'Up We Go!' - Ecstatic Dance Mix [09-01-2022]

So, here it is, finally! The DJ-set I played at the incredible Ecstatic Dance edition of the Khulana Crew in the city of the Hague. 🤩

It was a Saturday afternoon to never forget again, as the awesome and beautiful chapel was literally fully packed with some of the most amazing and beautiful dancers I've come across. They reaaaaaally went for it all the way and it was so deeply touching to see them dive so deep and fly to incredible heights. 🥳

I was literally shaking on my legs at the end, as it was the 1st gig outside of Amsterdam after many, many years of not having been active as a DJ, apart from some Ecstatic Dance sets since september 2021. Next to that I always tend to raise the bar as high as possible and always try to offer a really unique and outstanding dancing experience in comparison to what is often somehow already more or less familiar and done by other ED DJ's.

So, I just had to give these wonderful amazing dancers the very best of what I got in store as a way to live up to my high personal standards and which forced me to really dig deep in my musical reservoirs . And then hearing such lovely and deeply touching feedback and compliments being offered during the sharing round afterwards, it literally had me in tears of joy and gratitude. 🤗

THIS ECSTATIC DANCE MIX COMES WITH A WARNING !!! ⚡️💥⚡️💥⚡️

My apologies for having been real slow with uploading new mixes, but I feel this next one has most definitely been worth the wait! 🥳

It's my personal favorite and also the most varied and powerful Ecstatic Dance DJ mix I played thus far. I had the honor to play this as my very first Ecstatic Dance DJ-set for the Ecstatic Dance Groningen crew and an absolutely wicked wild audience at my old hometown up north in the Netherlands. A city that I have known for many years and for its people loving real good, powerful and no-nonsense music. A city full of dancers that really wanna go for it all the frigging way.....and oh boy, did they honor the reputation I know them so well for! 

The dancefloor turned into an absolute stark raving mad frenzy during quite a few tracks, but definitely most of all during the manic mad mayhem tune of Dirtyphonics. Guys that got some serious balls and managed to mix drum&bass and deathmetal together in the most incredible way possible. It's a reaaaaaaaaaal monster folks and you'll hear it in the very last part of this mix. 

I was kinda afraid to play the tune due to its immense intensity, but wow, people were almost flying up against the walls, that's how insanely wild and mental they went while dancing and bouncing around on it, all in good positive spirit though. And it was the absolute cherry on the pie of an awesome, fabulous and unforgettable night.

Yes, this Ecstatic Dance mix does come with a warning as mentioned above, but it's not all about intensity though. There's tons of different sorts of tunes in all kinds of genres, from very soft and tender to full power dance tracks and there's surely something for everyone's taste.

But in case you're a sonic sissy, you might wanna skip this one though.... 😜

It has taken me quite some time to upload a new Ecstatic  Dance set, which was due to all kinds of important personal processes,  but here is the next one and more are coming soon. Yes, it is from a few  months ago, but music is timeless right and I'm sure there's quite a  few new fresh musical nuggets for you to discover. ;)

This  recording is from my Ecstatic Dance DJ-set at the truly wonderful and  magic evening at the 'Merhzweckhalle' in Hauset in Belgium, which was  for the Ecstatic Dance Aachen (Germany) crew and was organized in close proximity  to the German border.

It was a true honor to play here for a truly incredible audience that really appreciated all kinds of styles of music and who all had the guts to dive deep and fly high beyond the limitations of the mind. And the promoters were some  of the most kind and some of the very best I came across so far.

DJ Shawnodese @ Ecstatic Dance - 'Mehrzweckhalle' - Hauset (Belgium) [26-03-2022]

So freaks, freggles and other freewheelin' folks, here's the Ecstatic Dance mix I played @ the magic 'Het Grote Fijne Festival' @ Ottermeer in the Netherlands, which was at an incredibly beautiful community in the middle of nature and created by a truly awesome conscious family. 

I felt so honored to get asked to play a set here, as it's organized by the nr. 1 Ecstatic Dance promoter in our country who also organizes the Ecstatic Dance festival in the Netherlands every year, so this was not just an 'ordinary' Ecstatic Dance gig, if those exist at all.

Getting booked on such a special occasion made me dig deep in my musical pockets and I decided I really wanted to stir things up, pull tons of tricks out of my hat and give people a truly blasting festival experience....and so I did! 🥳

It was such a blast to see such a warm, wicked and wild dancing posse bouncing around like a bunch of baboons in heat....haha! They truly gave it all they got and really appreciated all my weird- and wicked humor, samples and special effects as well as my rather peculiar taste of music. Or that's at least what people keep telling me and to be honest, that makes me really happy as I'm really trying to do something totally different than most Ecstatic Dance DJ's tend to do nowadays. After all, that's what I'm me for right? 🤪

So enjoy listening to this freestyle frolicking stark raving mad and mental Ecstatic Dance DJ-set of mine. A set with tons of variety and dope deliciousness. Finally I've found some time and inspiration again to create another Ecstatic Dance mix @ home, which in this case is a collection of favorite tunes I've been playing out over the last few months of this past year. Tunes which made so many amazing freestyle frolicking freaky dancers float like awesome angelics and bounce like bewildered baboons allover those magic Ecstatic Dancefloors in the Netherlands. 💃🕺

I have once more tried to captivate the majestic magic of Ecstatic Dance in a dance flow and journey aimed to facilitate the release of all kinds of physical, emotional and mental tension and stress, as well as dosing this blend of musical masterpieces with all kinds of delicious moments of fun, happiness and bliss. 🥳

My most sincere apologies to so many of you out there that have been waiting for ages for some Ecstatic Dance DJ-sets I played last year, but never managed to upload here on my Soundcloud page. 🙏

This past year has been incredibly beautiful, but also very challenging, including a new job, diving deep in the topic of personal trauma through therapy and well...of course there's the general madness of the world on top of it all. It most surely wasn't my best year, but I'm managing to get myself back together, am slowly stepping back behind the DJ-decks again and here's a 1st tangible result of doing so. 💪😁

So, here it is, finaaaaaaaally another upload and it was about frikkin' time right? 🤪

This is a homebrew version of a set from last year I once more played up north in my old hometown Groningen. Unfortunately the recording when to shits at the time, so here's a slightly altered version of it. DJ Shawnodese @ Ecstatic Dance - 'Edanz' - Groningen [04-03-2023]

Hi there folks :)

First of all here's some good news and that's the fact that after a professional break of more or less 10 years I've stepped back behind the DJ decks again....yaaay! 

I've been active as a DJ from 1991-2011 allover the planet and mainly did so in the psytrance scene with bookings on major psytrance and other in- & outdoor parties & festivals such as Boom Festival (Portugal), Ozora (Hungary), Earthdance (Bolivia/Holland), Antaris Project (Germany), Return to the Source (U.K./Germany), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Vuuv/Voov Experience (Germany), Alien Safari (South-Africa), Excalibur (Germany), Spacehopper (U.K.) and many more. 

Next to playing all those massive dance floors, I also played lots of downtempo and experimental sets at many chill-outs, lounges and the famous Amsterdam coffee shops. And last but not least, I've been running my own record label Mind Funk Records for about 7 years, which I did together with my buddies Valerio & Guiseppe @ Beatspace.com

Now, 10 years after I stopped, it's time to pick up a new musical trail by focusing upon my favorite Ecstatic Dance and other magic conscious events. 

Events that have had such a deep impact on my personal development as a human being and which have taught me so much about how I interact with other humans. How to learn and grow through dance, movement, playing together and constantly exploring personal and collective boundaries and desires.

Ecstatic Dance events have a strong focus upon a clear consensual connection between us as human beings while dancing, moving and playing on our bare feet, being drug free and leaving all the verbal noise of the day far behind. These events allow everyone to truly drop into the body and deeply get in touch with our sacred somatic temple again.

I really look forward to seeing you all soon on some of those amazing dance floors and being able to drop some of my favorite musical masterpieces upon you all! ;)
