"The Maybe-Gravies" is a special three-track EP I'd opted to create in celebration of the 5th anniversary of the debut Alyag album, "The Graveyard of Maybe-Somethings". The EP features fresh remasters of my personal favorite tunes from that album, as well as original artwork by the illustrious Bex Moongrove.

Alyag - Your Beloved Scapeghost (2024 Remaster)

Originally released eight years ago to the date, "Moonland" was the early herald of the experimental Alyag project, which had sought to seamlessly merge multi-genre electronic dance music with melodic metal guitar riffs, blending the cathartic rhythm of one with the punchy ferocity of the other. The tune was producer Alexandre Popravko's -- a career metalhead, guitarist, and recording/mixing engineer -- first dedicated foray into EDM production and sound design, and thus served as an especially sentimental, monumental sonic stepping stone within his eclectic signature sound shaping journey.

In celebration of its eight anniversary, Alexandre opted to not only remaster the original version, but also to rework some of its key elements, updating some of the sounds and instruments, including newly re-recorded guitars, re-programmed drums, and various other production aspects to give it the finer balanced polish the track had always deserved.

Moonland (2025 Remaster)

"Skyward pumping trance pads touch down upon a rumbling bedrock of subs pulsing to a chilled house beat, as electro-funk-metal guitar licks frolic with sinister determination to cause mischief amid a field of barbed synth tendrils -- all to tell a tale of existential angst as quizzically experienced by a sassy supernatural spectre."

That was the description of the original 2020 release of "Poltergeist Facepalm". "Polterface Resurrekshun" is a re-arranged, re-recorded, remixed/mastered version thereof, initially used as an alternative-key way to incorporate the tune into Alyag's live sets, depending on the tuning of the guitar that was dominantly used throughout the set. It's also an edited down version of the original, having since trimmed away some of the more experimental progressive fat and instead made for a more cohesive flow, which is useful in the context of a live electronic dance music show.
