By chance, I actually discovered Nils' music through the SCREWS Rework site, and I'm very glad I did.

Listening through the album, 'Me' just spoke to me, so I decided to remix it. I began with more radical ideas in terms of rearranging and altering the piece, but the melody and harmony were so beautiful and delicate, I instead decided to try to amplify the feelings that the piece stirred inside of me, leaving the piano part essentially unaltered.

I edited the piano part to fit a steady tempo, and then went about using the original file to produce all sorts of organic variations and effects. I then imposed some structure on the piece with synths, sound design and a touch of solo cello.

Thank you Nils for generously offering up your work for interpretation. Hopefully some people find a bit of enjoyment in my rework.

From score of a documentary awaiting distribution, underscoring discussion about the rumored final art work of Michael Richards, never seen by the public. He was an artist in residence in the World Trade Center, and was tragically killed in the 9/11 attacks.

The cue begins as Michael has just relocated to Miami after a difficult personal time, and includes mediations on life from his journal. It was at this time that his profile began to rise in the art world., which would lead him to his residence at the WTC. 

The music is focused on being delicate, emotive, and giving the gradual feeling of rising up and taking flight.

The cue begins with Michael seeing an African art exhibit, which in turn inspired his most well-known work, Tar Baby Vs. St. Sebastian. As the piano fades and the basses and pipe organ enters, the work and its tragic reflection of Michael's fate is explored.

Another cue from the Studio in the Sky score, this piece supports one of the more emotionally intense moments in the film.
