Global Hybrid Record’s artists decided to gather forces and join inspirations on a regular basis to create a serie of collaborative EPs, under the name HYBRID RITUALS, featuring their respective productions.

EP will be available for free download at Bandcamp («name your price», you can donate to support the label). For HQ lovers, you will also be able to purchase the WAV versions. The money collected will go exclusively to the label, for its promotion and to support the artists (physical release, videomaking, mastering, etc).

The tracks from the EP will get a second life, through the work of guest remixers, that will lead to another EP in a near future. A good way for us to promote, via our label, artists that we care about and head towards the same musical direction.

Since its inception in 2013, Mawimbi founders have been expanding their knowledge of lesser known and rather undiscovered musical territories thanks to chance encounters with likeminded DJs/producers, who were kind enough to put them onto a good amount of under-the-radar tropical gems.

Launched in 2017 and named after Mawimbi's bi-monthly radio show on Rinse France, the "Radio Mawimbi" compilation series is dedicated to unearthing vintage tropical gems in the form of free download edits and remixes by some of the most seasoned diggers and promising rookies of the tropical-enthusiast community!

From deep, drum-heavy workouts to essential Guinea Bissau melancholy, through remixed Beninese afrofunk and vintage South African kwaito, this second installment features the editing and remixing works of Yeahman (Frente Bolivarista), LSD (Love Saves The Day), Déni Shain (Antagana Records), Umoja, Mawimbi, ATW (Around The World), Calisto, Turbo Boom-Boom (TBB) and Midnight Ravers.

Now can you imagine someone setting up a tent in the midst of that bustling roundabout, in a place where all those roads converge in a swirling mix? Can you imagine, out of the blue, a tent with a wild illegal wedding party inside springing up in the middle of that crossroads, a jamming makeshift shelter which blocks the traffic until the break of dawn? Well, the loud music that would be played beneath the tent cover – this is the sound of the ShazaLaKazoo.
