I actually wrote this song after watching an episode of one of my favorite shows. It was the episode where the two lover interest break up and go their separate ways. I was inspired by the iconic part of this episode where the leading man walks away, looks back at his ex, and leaves through the smoke created by their own mess. After I watched the episode I ran up to my bedroom and wrote two-thirds of the song that evening.
