REC005 features Alfred Czital, recorded live at Juna, Goa for the first Qilla x Harmony night — celebrating the vinyl release of Monophonik & Kohra’s "Eastern Timbres".

A decade after first visiting Goa, Alfred returned to play the kind of set he always imagined bringing here. It's a true snapshot of where his sound is today: deep, housey, trance-leaning, and fully alive on the floor. This set is shaped by Goa’s openness and Harmony’s spirit — moments where dancers locked in, let go, and moved without pretense.

This recording holds that feeling — playful, fluid, and full of life. We hope you enjoy it!

I made this track purely for fun, inspired by an event that took place in 1994. At that time, the relatively newly liberated Czech Republic became a stopover for the legendary British sound system Spiral Tribe on their way to the Eastern Bloc. A meadow near the village of Hostomice was chosen for the very first event of what later became the massively popular CzechTek Teknival. Several hundred people participated, witnessing robotic Mad Max-style sculptures created by Mutoid Waste, and an actual abandoned fighter jet, a remnant of the Cold War, brought all the way from East Germany. For many of them, it changed their entire lives and influenced later generations, including myself.

For the track, I tried to capture memories and emotions from the times I was a regular visitor. We all have formative moments that shape our taste forever. A certain type of sound and emotion has lived with me ever since, and I’m always looking for it in music. Hope you dig it.

Ever since we heard @monophonikmusic perform his live set at Mala Junta in June, we knew that Jai is an artist who consistently pushes the boundaries of what playing live in a club can feel like. The perfect moment to experience this again arrived in Jai’s natural habitat, India, during the packed release party for his and Kohra’s debut EP on Harmony, held at Juna Club in Goa.

It was one of those warm nights where the energy is already buzzing before the music even starts. Our own Alfred Czital set the tone beautifully, and as Monophonik stepped into the booth, the room was already humid and moving as one. Within minutes, his production completely took over the space. His live set unfolded with raw intensity and surgical precision, weaving trance lines, broken rhythms and hypnotic sequences into a full-body experience.

Easily one of the most impressive live sets we’ve heard in a long time, and we’re more than happy to share the recording with you.
