Legwork’s Footage Series enlists two up-and-comers from the San Francisco Bay Area. Sepehr is a regular DJ on the SF club and warehouse scene, making waves in early 2018 on the @honeysoundsytem label. Justin lives and works across the bay in Oakland, and can be found at many of the same parties. Bottom line is you’ll be hearing more from these two in the future. Raw Detroit-style house is order here, with a remix from Legwork HQ of Justin’s offering.

For our second instalment, we bring you a 3 track EP from Brighton based producer Jamie Unknown. As his debut release with QRUK, we think you'll agree that he has come in strong and set the bar very high. Having been previously experimenting with Electronica, Jamie has pulled through and delivered 2 solid Leftfield Techno tracks. Taking inspiration from early House influences, we believe that Jamie is paving the way for a new generation of sound.

Stepping up to the remix plate, Detwiler delivers with his Afterdark Breaks mix. As a household name in the southern club scene, Detwiler made his name as the founder of Proxy. Since setting up his new collective Good4Friends, ‘The Arch’ Brighton Resident has developed his sound into the melodic and hypnotic side of the Breaks spectrum. Needless to say, we're here for it.

PREMIERE: Jamie Unknown - Pleasures [QRUK]

At one point years ago I lived with a guitarist who used to practice using the drum loops on a Boss DR-5. He gave it to me but it was before I was making music and I never figured out how to use it before selling it. I did manage to record a decent number of of the sounds it came with, which include a fair amount of kit drums, electronic drums, an 808, and some other instruments sampled at various pitches. Just dug up the recording and saved everything out as one-shots so you can use them in your productions.

There’s 375 samples total here. The harmonic ones include pitches across several octaves; they’re in differing keys but should be easy enough to work with.

I imported a bunch of these into my Roland TR-6S and quickly managed to make some cool loops with them at various tempos. These are in the audio preview above and included them in the download link below in case you want to use them as DJ tools or to sample from.
