It's now day 4 of our Magnetic Mix 100 celebration, and the weekend is here. That means it's time to kick things up a notch and get the BPMs rising. So far, we've had Anakim, Matt Ossentjuk, and Kane, three of LA's rising stars provide three excellent mixes, and today's guest keeps the energy moving. Our guest today is Canadian newcomer Shadowside, a Ravecore, Techno, and Hard Trance producer with an already lengthy back catalog ready for action. Although the alias might be new, as an artist she has ten years of experience under her belt. In accordance with our little celebration, she's prepared something extra special just for this occasion. 

Where the previous sets were traditional mixes weaving in and out of various genres, Shadowside has done a full producer set and has packed 17 original tracks into a powerful and hammering hour-long mix. While she's yet to release any music, it's safe to say that she'll have no shortage of high-quality releases in the future.

Listen here to the fifth hour of my 10h set that I played for my birthday in 2014 at the legendary Output Club in Brooklyn. 

How I miss DJing in clubs, in front of all of you and how I miss Output Club and those special all night long nights that I usually did in December around my birthday. This set, which you will get hour by hour on a weekly basis now here on AMFM was one of the longer ones. Output had a very strict no picture policy, so there is no footage from inside the club, I only found one blurry picture from my birthday cake. I started at 11 pm as far as I remember and according to my recording I ended at 9 in the morning. Output was such a special place with an amazing sound system and DJ booth, it was always such a pleasure playing there. You always take things for granted as long as you have them. Output Club had to close down end of 2018. I was very sad then and somehow I am even more now, as these days seem so long ago and I have no idea when I get to do something similar again in NYC. I miss it. I miss the city and its people. I have always had a great relationship with NYC since I started to play there in the late 90’s for the legendary Monday nights at Sullivan Bar, organised by @christiansmith. Time goes by so fast, if we don’t learn to appreciate the moment more, it will all just become a faint memory. Stay healthy everyone and I really hope I will get to see you all on some dancefloor again. Set Report AMFM 288

This week´s AMFM is the fourth hour of a 6h set that I played at Concrete, Paris on September 23rd 2016. The Concrete Club was on a Boat (barge) on the river Seine in the middle of beautiful Paris. The crew behind Concrete is one of the most wonderful bunch of promoters I have ever met and it showed in what they had created with this club. I always loved to play long sets there, I think my longest one was 10h (I think I might even released that set as another AMFM show). And I also always loved to open up the night, as I did in this case, hence the beginning of the set. In the background you can hear the people entering the club, directly aiming for the dance floor and ready for whatever there is to come. Talking about the audience, those at Concrete were some of the most open minded and ready to party people I have encountered in my career. Sometimes a DJ would be playing Drum and Bass before you, sometimes House… anything good and the crowd had a good time, I loved that atmosphere. Also it always was very intimate, with a no picture policy, you as a DJ were basically standing right in front, smiling, dancing and laughing along with this amazingly diverse crowd. And all that essentially in the middle of Paris. I really miss this place and put it up there with cult clubs that have sadly closed their doors forever, like Output, Omen and so on. Concrete closed its doors for good end of July 2019 due to issues with the owner of the barge. It will be forever missed, but the crew behind Concrete is still busy and I am sure one day we will have a new amazing place created by them for us to party at. Until then, we have those memories… and recordings. Enjoy.

Another legendary club that closed down too soon in 2015, Vessel was a beautifully designed club in the middle of San Francisco, with a top notch sound system. I always loved to play there, especially open to close sets. This one here is 5 hours long and from February 2015 and today´s show features the fifth and last hour of the set. The interesting thing with Vessel was, that it was not a “pure” techno club, actually just a few techno nights were on in this place and I guess, I was always among the most “underground” DJs to play there. I love those kind of challenges, to get a crowd going that is not only there to hear you, but also filled with people who might have never heard this kind of music before, let alone knew who I was. This is why this set is for some of you maybe all over the place and a little more tamed down, but as far as I remember, that night was quite a belter :)  People were always up for a good party in there, no matter what the musical direction. Standing at the forefront of the techno scene, DJ producer Shelley Johannson has been entertaining the masses with her unique skills behind the decks and in the studio for over a decade. Emotionally driven, impactful and melodic, her music makes huge sweeping gestures which take listeners and dancefloors on that fabled journey into darkness and light.
