On the 16th February we will release another batch of remixes for Second Storey's 2017 album, Lucid Locations. 

Lucid Interpretations - The Remix Album follows on from December's Lucid Reworks EP, a vinyl-only effort that featured two remixes by Marcel Dettmann, plus takes from Radioactive Man and The Exaltics. 

Three of those four tracks make it onto the new digital-only release, with Appleblim, Machine Woman, DeFeKT, Nastia, Or:la, 214, Shelley Parker and Broken Satellite also contributing. (Dettmann's "Negative Remix" of "No Such Location" was left off.)

A mi-el set is gripping in every sense of the word. The London-born DJ has forged her own tempo-shifting, cross-genre approach to mixing, since first cutting her teeth in Leeds and Leipzig, through shows on Sable Radio and at spaces like Institut fuer Zukunft.

After making her return home to London she's cemented herself as an artist and DJ with a fierce eye and ear. As co-booker and designer for Bermondsey's Venue MOT, she's helped to build a visual and musical aesthetic that's pretty much unrivalled in South East London.

It's in this space that she's continued to hone her skills as a DJ, as well as through her work at livestream and party series Late Night Shopper, alongside founder and regular B2B partner Allecto.

No surprises, Melissa's mix for us is enthralling from the get-go. Launching with cinematic, experimental and choral soundscapes, she sets the scene for a fusion of crunchy, metallic beats, guitar-soaked electronics, galloping rhythms and stripped-back breaks...

Sobolik is a Brooklyn-based artist whose work as a producer, DJ, promoter and label curator seeks to open dialogues across cultures and practices of modern club music. Co-heading the UK-based label All Centre alongside Simkin and DJ Pitch, Sobolik has been turning heads with futuristic club cuts on labels such as 3024, CloudCore, Woozy, and early reflex. Sobolik's world is filled with colour and hyperkinetic energy - not fitting in one box, their output reacts to a broad palate of styles across North American and UK club music traditions. Their most recent EP, “Iris”, released on All Centre in late 2021, pulls together molten digital sound design, jacking techno rhythms, and hard-hitting breakbeats across its 4 tracks. Sobolik curates a bimonthly party called inside voices, hosting vanguard minds in the New York underground—including K Wata, Despina, T.Wan, Ovid, Benbo, No Sir, Third Self, and Taal. In February, they released their third EP - Packet Loss - in a debut collaboration with Kindergarten Records, joining modern bass scene luminaries like Ayesha, Sha Ru, and Stolen Velour at Brooklyn’s preeminent home of chaotic, forward-thinking digital percussion tracks.

Our pick of the bunch, and today's premiere is Nastia's slamming new take on 'Dartmoor Four'. Our former cover star has always had a def ear when it comes to driving techno and we've had this on repeat for ages.
