There is no other DJ in Stoke on Trent that has played a bigger part in the local house music scene than Pete Bromley. For the last 25 years Pete has been Stokes number 1 DJ and resident at pretty much every major club night the city has seen. His vinyl collection is legendary and it is from this that he will be selecting the finest cuts of Stoke anthems for your pleasure on this special one off appearance for Back In the Day.

There are only a handful of DJ's/producers that I get to play with that I can say i'm a true fan of. Yes, I play alongside lots of DJ's who's music & productions I admire but on being told I was to dj with Brooklyn based NY house don Victor Simonelli, well...
I began to sort through  his remixes & productions and put them together in a DJ mix to illustrate the massive impact he's had on house music and myself in particular,as a DJ. Victor is one of the originators of a specific house sound that was a big influence on my own style in the early 90's,a time when he was on fire. 
Along with guys like Masters @ Work, Todd Terry, Steve Silk Hurley, Tommy Musto & Roger Sanchez,Victor has that classy soulful house sound with a hypnotic groove that puts him up there with those legends. House music has become a multi million dollar world wide phenomena and it's thanks to guys like VIctor that I'm still loving it nearly 30 years later!

Pete Bromley - Move Into April 2015

The Dj world is a very different one from that of 25 years ago. If you've seen any one of the thousands of social media arguments about vinyl v digital DJs or self taught v music schooled you'll know that there's a huge divide between the 'then' and 'now' world of DJs.

There's a select number of DJs out there that have managed to stay at the top of their respective scenes and it hasn't been a question of embracing technology or spending a fortune on a marketing team, it's been about being the real deal. Nowadays to the untrained eye/ear you can fake being a real Dj. For those that know; you can't.

Pete Bromley is riding the top wave of house music and has done for nearly 3 decades. A mix of dedication, thirst, ability, confidence and above all love for the music has kept him there without the help of some fancy pants marketing/management team ploughing tens of thousands of pounds into a product (not person) to get hundreds of thousands in return. He has a unique standing where he is loved and respected by 'real' DJs, whether they be new, young, old or established because they can see/hear that he is 'real' also.

Here's Petes latest mix of tracks that he'll be playing at The Move Sugarmill parties over Xmas and new year. This year has seen him play alongside Steve Lawler, Huxley, The Martinez Bros, Detroit Swindle, Kenny Dope, Darius Syrossian, Dimitri From Paris, Todd Terry and Heidi to name but a few...

Pete Bromley - Move! Into Dec 2015

Here is a rare live recording of Pete Bromley live @ the Void - Hanley Stoke-On-Trent in September 2000 playing deep tech/deep trance/tribal house and does not sound too dissimilar to his current Move Live sets at the Sugarmill.

This captures one of his famous pre 12 O'Clock Warm Up sets played regularly to 1000+ clubbers!

This was one of Pete's most successful years with his weekly resindency @ Golden, monthly guest @ Zillion in Antwerp, The dance tent @ V2000 Staffordshire & Chelmsford and well as many guest spots up & down the UK highlighted when playing peak time in the Golden tent @ Creamfields 2000 to a 10,000 strong capacity crowd.
