I finished recording EVIVA late October 2000. It was originally a CD, first I burned them one at a time and printed and cut a bunch of covers, then I got the CD manufactured properly. There were a lot of these CDs out there at one point, I wonder how many are still around. This was something of a message in a bottle to a pleasant piece of my imagination. Thirteen years later, same place, different time. It is the 1st part of a 3 part series, I still owe one more to it, maybe one day........

This mixtape brought a lot into my life, and I've been told that this mixtape brought a lot into others lives too. I hope you enjoy it.

Welcome To The Jungle Gym

Mr Bee & Benito Turntable sont tous deux originaires de la région parisienne et férus de Hip Hop depuis leur adolescence. Ils se rencontrent à l'Antirouille (ancienne place forte du Hip Hop à Paris) en 2008 où ils commencent à mixer leurs disques vinyles pour la première fois en public, au départ séparément puis l'alchimie faisant le reste ils fondent ensemble l'association Native Songs, clin d'oeil au collectif qui les a façonné, et organisent plusieurs soirées ensemble sur la capitale.
En 2011, Benito s'exile à Montréal, suivi un an plus tard par Mr Bee qui le rejoint de l'autre côté de l'Atlantique, mais dans une ville frontalière du Canada: Detroit City, la patrie de Jay Dee aka J Dilla !
L'histoire de ce mix débute fin 2015 entre Noël et nouvel an, période au cours de laquelle Bee rend visite à Benito emportant avec lui une sélection de disques Hip Hop instrumentales, les 2 compères s'enferment ensemble quelques jours pendant une tempête de neige et concoctent un mix "Instru Mental" d'une quarantaine de tracks : https://soundcloud.com/benito-turntable/benito-mr-bee-instru-mental.
Voici l'épisode 2 qui poursuit l'aventure suivant le même concept en se nourrissant de leurs découvertes Hiphopologiques et évolutions musicales personnelles au cours de ces 4 dernières années. Seule différence: ce nouvel opus a été enregistré à distance, Mr Bee étant revenu vivre à Paris depuis.
