Angels § Donuts

This project is an homage to the styles of production that have influenced my production the most. 'Angels' refers to Kanye West’s style of production, specifically on 'the Life of Pablo'. 'Donuts' refers to the final album of J Dilla as it highly influenced hip hop production in the 2000s. The tape seeks to nod to both those production styles from the lush warm production of the beats to the format of the mix. The styles of the beats are derived primarily from the production styles of J Dilla and Kanye. However, despite my personal style being highly influenced by both, other producers such as Pharrell, Timberland, and Aphex Twin have influenced my style as well. That being said, the tape seeks to represent the past, present, and possibly a glimpse of the future of hip hop production.
