Shepz @ Art Valley 2025 – Zenonesque Pressure Set [Dark Psytech, Dark Prog, Forest Techno]

Earth Frequency 2025 carried something special.
The 20th anniversary. A real milestone.

I had the honour of closing the Thursday night session at Love Camp. The floor was full, locked in and moving from the first kick. There was a charge running through the air. Psytech flowing into Dark Prog in the open air with a crowd that was tuned and ready. You could feel the energy building with every transition.

This set was recorded live and played out on a beautiful L-Acoustics rig. No edits. Just the moment as it unfolded.

If you were there, thank you for holding space and pushing it with me. If you’re hearing it for the first time, I hope the current still reaches you.

Unfortunately the recording from my set at Subsonic Festival 2011 got damaged, it's a shame because it was probably my favourite gig in the last couple of years. I have recorded a similar set, obviously it's not the same but it's got some similar tunes in bar a few. I've also chucked in a few different bits just to end it off with, it's my way of saying goodbye to what has turned out to be quite an interesting year!

Deep in India

December 2006, my first multitrack recording + production of a live band which we did in my living room at the time, using mics fed into a 16 channel mixer through to Cubase on an extreme budget. Post production effects and dynamics done within the DAW.

R.I.P Simon, you died far too young for your incredible talents, I miss you.

Found an old recording of mine, I was around 16 at the time.

It's not an exact cover of Tender Surrender as I go off on my own tangent once it kicks in... but I do miss being able to play like this.

Perhaps one day I will, again.

Shepz is a Psytechno and Dark Prog DJ/producer based in Sydney, Australia. With over 18 years in the scene, his sound moves between precision and raw pressure - driven by modal scales, polyrhythms, and a deep understanding of what it takes to hold a dancefloor.

He’s played key festivals across the Australian bush circuit — Earth Frequency, Dragon Dreaming, Subsonic, Psyfari, Art Valley, Antigravity, Wi3rd, RPG,  - and held down slots across Europe, including alongside Exit Festival in Serbia, Birgit in Berlin, and iconic London clubs like Ministry of Sound, Egg, and Corsica Studios.
