Whoyostro introduces a new collab from Jake Tomas and Paul HG with ‘Spark’, a deep and stripped back tech cut built for the late night. The original mix hits from the jump with a driving low end, tight percussion, funky synth chops and a catchy vocal hook that loops just right. It has all the ingredients of a proper basement workout.

The release also lands with two sharp remixes, both offering something fresh for selectors.

Lauren Steel brings her signature minimal meets deep tech sound. She lifts the track into club ready territory with punchy drums, rolling grooves, an elastic bassline and airy synths that keep things light but effective. Her version feels primed for early peak time sets with just the right amount of swing.

Lee Jeffrey UK takes it in a heavier direction. His remix ups the drive with chunky low end pressure and a bold groove that hints at UK garage without going full nostalgia. It is darker, tighter and built to move a floor without shouting for attention. DJs chasing that underground thump will find plenty to love here.

From the more hypnotic textures of the original to the high energy push of the remixes, ‘Spark’ delivers across the board. It is a tight three track drop made for DJs who value groove, clarity and late night momentum.

Walking On A Dream

Cobra B is a Chicago-born, St. Louis-raised open-format DJ who mixes music rooted in the Black diaspora. She pulls from her unique influences to create energizing, boundary-pushing sonic experiences that blend house music, amapiano, afrobeats, R&B, juke, kwaito, techno, hip hop, jazz & post-punk✨

She's musically influenced by the soul, R&B and rock her mom played while cooking, riding shotgun in her big brother's car with the bass on high, the Gospel in church pews with her dad & grandpa, Zambian braai parties with her childhood best friend, songs by Alicia Keys & Regina Spektor (Soviet Kitsch) she once learned on the piano and Esperanza Spaulding on the bass guitar, European raves while studying in Ireland, and underground punk shows & jam sessions with her bandmates (Black Reveries) while in Boston.

Since launching her DJ career, she has made appearances in some of Chicago's legendary spaces, including Smartbar, Podlasie Club, the California Clipper, Berlin nightclub (RIP), and annual events like Pride Fest and the Other Art Fair. She is also a resident DJ for a free community roller skate event in Garfield Park and regularly plays at underground events and raves. Cobra B primarily plays in the Midwest but travels on occasion, making her international debut at Bella Afrikana Beach Club in Accra, Ghana  (hey, Mz. Oristin!).

P.S. if you've read this far...some random influences: my first techno rave (Dax J in Dublin 2017), my homie Bongani in Ireland & those NUIG pizzas, my homies sippin' Savanna cider & dancing pantsula in Khayelitsha, South Africa and Lusaka, Zambia; my first Chosen Few Picnic, seeing DJ Virginia at Berghain, my first jazz jam session on electric bass with Angel Bat Dawid & friends, watching Pink Floyd's The Wall with my mom as a kid, every backyard party someone has welcomed me to, that time India Arie performed under the stars at the St. Louis Arch on July 4th for free (yes, there were fireworks!), and the little girl in Garfield Park who said I was the best.
