Jesus

"Bathsheba's Repent", also titled "Dear Heaven", is my version, and vision, of a Discouraged Woman's Answer, and reply, to King David of Israel's Repentance. Didn't know he lamented himself, for The Sin he inflicted, and imposed, upon an Innocent Victim he willfully harmed, outrageously? Read about it, for yourself, in Psalm 51. In this musical tribute to his co-transgressor, though she was, I think, "less guilty" of The Big 'A' than he was, I cast myself as she, meaning: Bathsheba. The Closing Prayer is always a big finale, during live concert performances. You would not believe how carefully fans are in memorizing, and reciting it, along with me, as I perform it onstage.

Bathsheba's Repent

"Prodigy", also titled "The King Inside", is both a tribute song to Lord Jesus Christ, and a nod to "everychild", of any age, whom has ever felt neglected in their life circumstance. The Children's Chorus Section, "Jesus Christ, light up my life. Show me The Way. Say it will be okay. Say You Will Keep me, and Never Leave me. So they/I can see The Prodigy in me" is always a very big hit, and with audiences of all ages. It is one of my favorite songs, in my Tree Of Life Collection.

Prodigy

This song, I'm told, is a 'banger'. I just think it is, rather, timeless. Originally, I envisioned Britney Spears, or perhaps even Madonna, having a 'go' at it. Whaddayathink? The Prayer, at its bridge midsection, at any rate, is a particular crowd favorite. It is rendered, "live", in my favorite onstage persona: Bathsheba, Daugher of Eliam, and who was also, of course, as everyone knows, the Wife of Uriah The Hittite. F.Y.I., her name is also pronounced as Bat-Sheva, or Batsheva. Oh well, you would not believe who, especially, loves hearing she rendered at prayer, in song. I could not believe it, myself.

Kyrios

Greater Refuge is exactly what it sounds like: an anthem. This one's for my fellow church-goers, and also for just anyone who loves, depends upon, and trusts Lord God. It contains a brief bridge backing lyric that was actually composed not as a song, but as a poem, by The Apostle and Bishop Robert L. Sanders, Sr., then of Greater Refuge Temple Of Christ Church, in Upstate Western New York. The sermonizing voice heard within the song's intro is articulating a sample of a riveting sermon, likewise authored by His Grace.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 

Sherry Sherrill is a Christian, and (American) Community Activist, Public Speaker, Environmentalist, Author, Urban Planning and Neighborhood Improvement aficionado, Digital Equity 'crusader', (professional) Musician, (avid) Gardener, and (professional) Singer-Songwriter. A former Urban and Public Policy Studies student at State University of New York's University at Buffalo, she plans to transfer to Urban Planning Studies, and is intent upon pursuing a Law Degree within The Environmental Sciences. 

Sherrill composes (Original) Music, and primarily within the (Original) Contemporary Christian Music [CCM], and Electronic Contemporary Christian Dance Music [ECDM], genres. Also a (longtime) Minority Community Issues Activist, Ms. Sherrill is a classically trained Musician (Piano), as well as Vocalist (Agresta Method), and her favourite composers are Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms.  

Sherrill also greatly admires Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a little known, but very accomplished and highly celebrated, French Violinist and Conductor.

Also an entrepreneur, Sherrill is the Founder and CEO of Covington Associates Consulting [CAC].

Sherrill is a longtime resident of the United States of America's, Upstate Western New York Area's, Buffalo-Niagara Region. She is the (eldest) daughter of (former) City of Buffalo (NY) Common Council Member and (former) County of Erie (NY) Legislator: The Honorable Betty Jean Grant.

A native of the U.S. State of Tennessee, (and) whose family migrated to the State of New York when she was just four (4) years old,  Sherrill is also an Intrapreneur, USA Voting Rights advocate, Minority Business Enterprise Development consultant, Affirmative Action proponent, Anti-Gun Violence advocate, Anti-War/Peace proponent, and Mother. At present, Sherrill is leading a Movement to restore the Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood in Buffalo (NY),  and which Environmental Justice campaign is in opposition to a controversial $Billion New York State Department of Transportation effort to construct a tunnel atop the high-speed New York Route 33 Kensington Expressway. The freeway was built in the center of Humboldt Parkway Neighborhood, back during the mid-1950s.
  
An (accomplished) Opposite Editorial (i.e. Op-Ed) Writer, and (pioneering) Technology Trainer, Sherrill is recognized throughout the Upstate Western New York Region, as a (deeply) committed Urban Community Initiative Leader. Her Minority Community Technology Literacy and Utilization efforts extend all the way back to the mid-1990s, in Buffalo, and in recent years, she has promoted Minority Small Business and Entrepreneur Empowerment. Back in 1996, as a member of the Community Voice Organization, Ms. Sherrill 'spearheaded' the first Black Business Summit held in the history of the City of Buffalo. Moreover, she has helped to clean City of Buffalo parks, advocated for (covered) Public Transit Bus Shelters, helped champion inner-city focused Neighbor Helping Neighbor Snow Shoveling Brigades, and supported City Neighborhood Park Planning efforts conducted by The Olmsted Parks Conservancy. 

𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔

Sherrill is a member of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority [NFTA]-Metro’s (diverse) Citizens Advisory Committee [CAC], GObike Buffalo’s “Developing Our Transit Future” Transit-oriented Design Initiative, and the Buffalo Chapter of the NAACP. She is a former member of Moms Demand Action (For Gun Sense In America), and the Niagara (Region) Group of the Sierra Club. Sherrill is a current member of East Side Parkways Coalition, and, the We Are Women Warriors Group, where she is Special Projects Facilitator. Sherrill is also a member of the Western New York Digital Equity Coalition, a past member of American Planning Association [APA], and a current member at Greater Refuge Temple of Christ Church (Buffalo).   

𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒎 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒐 (𝑵𝒀)

On May 14, 2022, a "domestic terrorism Attack", as the Incident was (correctly) described by U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, was inflicted at the East Side Buffalo Community location of a TOPS Friendly Markets store. Ten (10) Black and African American victims who had been merely shopping for groceries, or loading groceries into vehicles, or just walking nearby the establishment's front doors, were mercilessly gunned down. Several more persons were seriously injured, though a few persons, who hid at various points inside the store at the start of the attack, managed to escape injury.

𝑬𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝑩𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 

Sherry Sherrill has been a Community Activist since childhood, when, at Age 11, her mother took her campaigning door-to-door in their University District, City of Buffalo Neighborhood, to petition for residents assistance in an Effort to try and block the city's (then) Mayoral Administration from converting an abandoned General Motors Plant, near the family's residence, into an Abandoned Vehicle Auto 'Pound'. The campaign was (very) successful, and was also (greatly) appreciated by neighbors, in the Buffalo Community. 

Prior to that timeframe, at Age 8, Sherry was enrolled, by her mother,  in Buffalo Neighborhood Park Cleanup Efforts that were being conducted nearby the family's (then) Kensington Avenue apartment. Subsequently, her mother encouraged Sherrill to participate in another (personal) campaign, to ensure that the County of Erie did not make dire cuts to its funding of the (Westminster Avenue) Neighborhood Branch Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, which was in the near vicinity of the family's (then) Northeast Buffalo home. Although, in a later decade, a city Charter School would claim the library for the (sole) utilization of its elementary students, Sherrill's mother's initiative to preserve the library was (very) successful. It did not close, nor did it suffer the loss of its (municipal, or regional) funding, 

Back during the mid-1990s, Sherrill became one of the (reported) earliest proponents of the importance of the City of Buffalo's, and the County of Erie's, Minority Community Residents utilizing the (then) emergent technology that became referred to, decades later, as the World Wide Web. Her Black Issues of Buffalo [BIB]™ website was hosted, on the (network) infrastructure of State University of New York's, University at Buffalo's [UB], Western New York Regional Institute Network [WNY/RIN]. It was administered by UB's Institute for Local Growth and Regional Governance. Accessible to the general public, all across the world, via The Buffalo Free-net, Sherrill's bulletin board service [BBS] Initiative was one of the Buffalo-Niagara Region's (pioneering) Minority Individual-led, Internet-based, 'digital divide' Projects. Moreover, BIB™'s "Original Black Business Database [OBBD]™”, was also one of the region's (earliest) examples of an online business directory, and displayed local and regional small business companies, and Houses of Faith, owned and/or led by Minority Individuals.

Also during the mid-1990s, Sherrill was the author of the "Internet Position Paper", adopted at a Black and African American Community Convention conducted by the Community Voice Organization, and which Black Community Economic Development Initiative, was led by the Honorable Charley H. Fisher, III. In later years, Mr. Fisher III would become elected an "At-Large" member of the City of Buffalo's Common Council. Held inside Canisius College's Koessler Center, the Community Convention's platform facilitated Sherrill's urging the East Side Buffalo Community to do what was needed to prevent minority residents being "left behind" the nation's (then) race to embark upon the (global) Information Superhighway, and that the community capitalize on the Internet's (then) developing World Wide Web. Sherrill's "Internet Position Paper" was (unanimously) accepted by the Convention's attendees, and was merged into a (larger) comprehensive Community Vision Document. 

𝑻𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑱𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆

By year 2000, Sherrill's Digital Equity Focus led her to 'spearhead' Community Technology Resource Centre [CTRC], a nonprofit she founded, while working (full-time) as a Deputy Sheriff Officer, at County of Erie's Sheriff's Department. CTRC was launched to promote, and to establish, (free) inner-city neighborhood-based Community Computing Labs. The first CTRC was based inside Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority's: Kenfield Homes Development. The location was adjacent to the agency's: Langfield Homes Development. The Center furnished (free) Computer and Internet Access to the youths, and the adult residents, of both those Family Public Housing communities. The CTRC also furnished multimedia 'edutainment' After-school Programming, and was supported, in large measure, by a generous (in-kind) Software Donation from The Microsoft Foundation.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 

In 1984, and after leaving Morgan State University, in City of Baltimore (MD), early, Sherrill moved to New York City, and to follow her long-held dream of a (professional) career in the Music Industry. A New York State Regents Diploma Graduate of the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts [B.P.S. 192], Sherrill had also studied Violin, Clarinet, Voice, Music Theory, and the Harpsichord. On a side-note, while at Performing Arts, Sherrill was the (sole) student in the (entire) school, whom was offered and furnished access, to the school's (antique) Harpsichord, and on which she practiced weekly, in conjunction with her (other) academic Studies. Also at BAVPA, it was not uncommon for she to be called upon, by the school's (various) Music Instructors, to accompany other Buffalo Area high school's students, as these (latter) peers pursued scholarships, beauty pageants, talent competitions, and other (similar) local and regional Youth Opportunity-concerned contests. Sherrill's (own) Piano Music Instructor, Mrs. Elizabeth J. Venator (deceased), was an (accomplished) Piano Virtuoso, and an (esteemed) graduate of Eastman School of Music. After learning Sherrill had taught herself to play the piano, Mrs. Venator kindly offered to become Sherrill's Instructor. Sherrill also sang in the school’s choirs, and played in several of its (varsity) bands. 

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆

While living on the Island of Manhattan (NYC), Sherrill was selected in a city-wide Talent Competition, and traveled to Europe to record some of her (Original) songs, as well as (to) compose additional music. In City of Berlin, she resided in a (borrowed) cold water 'flat' that was situated between The Berlin Wall, and The Brandenburg Gate. She composed several songs on her own, and co-wrote more, with her German Producers: Mr. Gena 'Gena B. Good' Wernik, and Mr. John 'Baron' Baron. These Works, include(d): "Thank You, Darlin' ", a tribute to her (cherished) mother, and "Imagine (That)", an homage to her (youngest) sibling, who was born with Sickle Cell Anemia.

Also during her stay in West Berlin, Sherrill was (greatly) affected by numerous domestic terrorism Incidents, inflicted by White Racist Supremacists, and their (affiliated) Extremist Hate Groups, and during which several Turkish Immigrant Individuals, and (their) families, were slain. These killings were (largely) inflicted while the victims, including babies, and senior citizens, were asleep in their beds inside their residences, throughout, and nearby, Berlin. The desperately violent episodes convinced Sherrill of the necessity that she: (a) Be knowledgeable of geopolitical developments, (b) Exhibit compassion and empathy concerning persons seeking refuge in foreign native land(s), and (c) Be confident that a High(er) Moral Authority, i.e. God, does in fact exist.
