Ms. Sherry Sherrill is a (professional) Singer-Songwriter, Minority Business and Entrepreneur Development Consultant, Poet, Urban USA Neighborhood Improvement aficionado, Urban and Public Policy Studies University Student, and "at-risk" Youth Development Initiative Leader. 

An avid supporter of Global Warming/Climate Change Solutions, Sherrill is also an respected Black and African American Community Affairs Volunteer. The (eldest) daughter of an renowned (likewise) Community Builder, Sherrill (herself) is, in addition, an authentically inclusive celebrant of World Region Culture. A classically-trained Pianist, she composes (Original) Music in numerous formats, including (Original) Contemporary Christian Music [CCM], and Electronic Contemporary Christian Dance Music [ECDM], genres. Moreover, Sherrill is the (100%) Composer, Lyricist, Musician, Recording Artiste (Vocalist/Singer), Producer, Arranger, and Publisher of all but two (2) of the eleven (11) songs in her Tree Of Life Song Collection, many of which are able to be heard on this SoundCloud website. These are due for release within the coming months, and just in time for enjoyment during Spring and Summer of 2024. A native of the U.S. State Of Tennessee, Sherrill (also) resides within the United States Of America's, Upstate Western New York Area, where she is, quite (literally), a 'grassroots' level, 'boots on the ground' variety, (longtime) Community Activist. In addition, she is a knowledgeable Entrepreneur, Intrapreneur, Socialpreneur, a budding (Fiction, and Non-Fiction) Author, a seasoned Quality-of-Life Issues-focused Op-Ed Writer, and a deeply committed social enterprise (Consulting) business Concern: Owner.

Sherrill has resided within the State Of New York since Age 4yrs., and is the (eldest) daughter of a (former) City Of Buffalo, and County Of Erie, public elected official. Like her mother's, Sherrill's Community Advocacy and Activism experience spans decades. Furthermore, Sherrill is (also) an (aspirant) Playwright, and, is a patient, conscientious, and knowledgeable (Computer and Internet) Technology Trainer. During Winter 2022-Spring 2023, she enrolled at SUNY University at Buffalo [UB], to (finally) complete her degree, and (simultaneously) added Technology Solutions Developer, and Positive Youth Development Programme Creator, to her already extensive collective Body of Work(s).

Sherrill has studied The Performing Arts, since Age 7yrs., and that (formal) education eventually grew to encompass the Violin, Clarinet, Voice, Piano, and the Harpsichord, as well as The Ballet, and in addition, the African, and Modern (Dunham Technique), Dance Arts. While attending high school at Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts [BAVPA], Sherrill majored in Music, and studied Music Theory. Due to an ability to sight-read sheet music, and to thereby adapt to (new) piano music ​compositions (relatively) quickly, Sherrill was frequently recruited, by the school's Music Instructors, to play a supportive role concerning other Buffalo Public School's students, in occasions of (their) appearances and performances in regional and community based talent contests, performing arts-based scholarship auditions, and talent-connected beauty pageants. This supported growth experience undoubtedly contributed to she creating Harambee Buffalo | Creative Youth Arts Festival, in later years, post-high school. HB is a well received and visionary Initiative designed to publicize, and nurture, the creative accomplishments of this present generation's Buffalo Niagara Region, and Upstate Western New York Area, young persons. Sherrill is also the creator of Youth Opportunity! Buffalo, or YO! Buffalo. Likewise during her (own) high school era timeframe, Sherrill intermittently enrolled in courses involving the Thespian Arts, and was fortunate to participate in (onstage) appearances, herself, albeit these were in (relatively) minor, supportive, Musical Theatre production roles.

After leaving Morgan State University, in Baltimore (MD), early, to relocate to New York City's Island of Manhattan, Sherrill pursued a (professional) career in Music. For Sherrill, dues-paying meant (full-time) employment, at: The Limelight (as: Waitress), Bloomingdale's (as: Estee Lauder Cosmetics Salesperson), Macy's (as: Cashier), the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon (as: Gift Certificates Sales Rep), and at Loeb & Loeb Law Firm (as: Receptionist). She also studied Voice, Music Theory, and Music Composition, as well as attended various and numerous Music Industry Networking Events, and Songwriting Workshops conducted by professional music societies. Now a Member of Broadcast Music International, Sherrill has also interfaced with American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers [ASCAP]'s Performers and Events, as well as Society Of European Stage Authors And Composers [SESAC]'s. 

During such (crucial) development phase(s), in NYC, Sherrill was selected in a city-wide Talent Search competition, to travel to Europe, and for the purpose of recording some of her (Original) Music creations 'there'. At the time, the latter Works had been created in (both) Buffalo, and NYC. Just prior to arriving to New York, Sherrill had signed to Endangered Species Management [ESM], which was also based 'there'. While at Harmony Music Recording Studio, in the Republic of Germany, Sherrill composed numerous (additional) music, and also co-wrote several songs in conjunction with German Music Producers and Impresarios: Mr. Gena 'Gena B. Goode' Wernik, and Mr. John 'Baron' Baron. During her nearly month-long stay, Sherrill resided in a three-story, walk-up, cold water 'flat', situated in West Berlin, between The Berlin Wall, and The Brandenburg Gate. Though the German Music Project was, itself, successful, Sherrill was (very) deeply impacted by uber-violent incidents that occurred during her residency, in the country. 

She also missed her family, back in City of Buffalo (NY), very much, and composed two songs especially dedicated to, and in honor of, (both) her (youngest) sibling, Ms. Stacey Grant....and their mother. The songs are titled "Imagine (That)", and "Thank You (Darlin')".

Though The Berlin Wall had (finally) fallen in the year of Sherrill's arrival to Germany, by stark contrast, Turkish ​Individual and Family Immigrants to the nation, were (routinely) targeted by (extremely) violent, (virulently) racist, wrongly resentful and hate-filled, right-wing Terrorist Individuals.....and the latter's hateful White Supremacy-motivated Extremist Groups. In several (memorable) instances during Sherrill's stay, numerous (such) families were assaulted and, in some instances, entire households were slain, including as the family members, and their young children, including babies, slept soundly in their beds at night. The (profoundly) disturbing experience would alter the course of Sherrill's life, and her understanding, by contributing to her comprehension of not only the plight of ethnic Minority immigrants on hostile lands, and inside contentious territories, but too, of the necessity that U.S. citizens (a) Endeavor to be cognizant of geopolitical affairs, (b) Determine to be compassionate concerning Immigrant and Refugee Persons' circumstances, and (c) Purpose to "see the world" beyond where one's (familiar) 'comfort zone', or field of observation or consideration, might ordinarily or, perhaps readily, lead one to arrive toward and/or consider.

Ms. Sherrill Sherrill is, too, the Founder, President, and CEO, of Covington Associates Consulting | CAC, as well as its 'parent' entity, The Heavensgate Company [HG]. She is Founder, as well, and (Interim) Executive Director, at Community Technology Resource Centre [CTRC]. Moreover, Sherrill founded, and is President, of FORTAS | Forestry, Oceans, Railways, Transit, and Architectural Sciences, as well as the (bespoke) Sherry Sherrill Enterprises [SSE]. The latter, SSE is the 'flagship' entity that, ultimately, will delineate (all) of Sherrill's: Kingdom Initiatives. FORTAS, is representative of her Natural Environment Preservation and Sustainability commitment, as well as her Green Economy Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Action Agenda.  

At present, Covington Associates, is embarked upon an (inspirational) Minority Community Resident-led Neighborhood Improvement Effort, and which is focused in City Of Buffalo's Martin Luther King Park Neighborhood [MLKPN]. Sherrill (fondly) refers to the community, as: 'The Milkpan'. At that Initiative, Sherrill is both Project Manager, and Team Leader. Launched during Spring of Y2022, the Effort is being conducted in conjunction with the formation of an Exploratory Committee [MLKPN-ec], which is, itself, comprised of Neighborhood Residents (i.e. Tenants), in addition to college-university Students, ​and Neighborhood-based: Commercial Property Owners, Minority Small Business Owners (and, aspirant Entrepreneurs), Homeowners, Parents, Youths, and Retirees. Youth Opportunity! | Buffalo™ [YO! | Buffalo™], a Positive Youth Development component of the MLKPNip, is an "at-risk" Youth Leadership Transformation Initiative that Sherrill is designing, this Academic School Year (September, 2022-June, 2023). A key feature of the Initiative, is the Martin Luther King Jr. Center For Nonviolence Social Change's Nonviolence365© Training Curriculum.

Based in the U.S. City of Atlanta, The King Center [TKC], was founded in Y1968, by Mrs. Coretta Scott King. The King Center's CEO, is Dr. Bernice King, The Reverend Dr. King Jr.'s and Mrs. Scott King's, (youngest) daughter.

In addition, Sherrill is the Special Projects Facilitator, at We Are Women Warriors, a Family and Community Empowerment Group, (also) based in Buffalo (NY).  During Y2022, Warriors conducted a (nearly) year-long Gun Violence Awareness series of Community Forums, inside the Dr. Eva M. Doyle Auditorium, at Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Branch, of the Buffalo and Erie Count Public Library [BECPL]. During Spring of Y2023, the Resident Input from those "No Excuses" Community Forums, will be drafted into a Community Compact Concerning Youth Violence and Opportunity, and will then be presented to the 'East Side'/East Buffalo Community, for consideration and voting upon the residents' suggestions (on "what", "how", "when", and "by whom") ought be done, in the interest of deterring 'East Side'/East Buffalo youths' potential for and/or actual involvement in Violence, and particularly, as involving Firearms.

During the mid-1990s, while (then) Chairperson of Housing and Economic Development, at Community Voice Organization, and which Community Quality-of-Life and Civil Rights Advocacy Organization was founded by the Honorable Charley H. Fisher III, Sherrill authored a thoughtful (Y1995) opinion-editorial, and which social commentary was published in USA Today newspaper. The article concerned the (then) emerging Music genre phenomenon, labeled 'gangsta' Rap. Ms. Sherrill is, rather, a 'fan' of Hip-Hop Music.

(This last category is a more difficult one, to decide). Sherrill's favorite song is a six-way 'tie', consisting of five (Original) songs she composed both the lyric and music of, and one she co-authored: "Prodigy [The King Inside]", "She Walks In Beauty [Tree Of Life]", "Jesus [Christ, My Savior]", "Bathsheba's Repent [Dear Heaven]", "Woman.....Again"; and, "Greater Refuge [O LORD]". Her favorite book, is: The Holy Bible.

Later during the same year of USA Today Newspaper's publication of her (highly) controversial social commentary lamenting the detrimental social impact of 'gangsta rap' music upon the Black and African American Community's culture, in the United States of America, Sherrill also lost (all) interest in consuming (gratuitous) violence-laden films, and regardless of "who" produced, featured in, and/or endorsed such. Furthermore, in that (same) season, Sherrill conceived and helped to coordinate the first "African American Business Summit", in City Of Buffalo's history, and which Minority Business Development Initiative was attended by well over one hundred (100)aspirant and/or then-active entrepreneurs.

Moreover, three years prior, she was one of the first Person(s) of Color, throughout Upstate Western New York, to promote the significance of the (then) looming global Internet, to Buffalo-Niagara Region's Black and African American Community residents, and to launch an Internet-based Minority Small Business Directory, titled "The Black Business Directory and Database [BBD]™". ​ During that period, the (now) global phenomenon widely known and referred to as "the World Wide Web", had not (yet) emerged into its present-day dominance and domination. That (latter) development did not transpire, until (approximately) Y2010. Sherrill's utilization of the Buffalo Free-Net® 's (then) SUNY University at Buffalo's Western New York Regional Institute [WNYRIN]'s network infrastructure framework, entailed she promoting the (increasing) importance of the city's, and region's, Minority Community Residents', and (private) Employers', ​ 'uptake', embracement, utilization and, in fact, "command" of Personal Computing, and Internet, Technologies. Sherrill also promoted the significance, and necessity, of Minority Resident Households' (increased) Awareness ​ of, and (improved) Access to, Broadband Spectrum technologies, including Video Conferencing, File Transfer Protocol [FTP], Virtual 'Streaming', Online Gaming, and Installation of High-Speed Broadband Network Infrastructure.....inside and/or near(er) to City Of Buffalo's Minority Resident Neighborhoods. WNY/RIN was an Initiative of the University at Buffalo School of Law's, Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth. In later years, the latter (impactful) Regional Sustainability focused Entity, was renamed: University at Buffalo Regional Institute [UBRI].

Also during Y1995, Ms. Sherrill accepted the commission of authoring the Black and African American Community-focused ​ "Internet Position Paper", and which became presented to the regional community, in Buffalo-Niagara, under the auspices of Community Voice Organization, when it was merged into the Organization's "Community Compact" Vision Document. The Compact was ratified, and adopted, at a city-wide Black Community Convention held, later that same year, at Canisius College's Koessler Center. That ('groundbreaking') Black Community Development Strategic Plan was an veritable 'blueprint' for Community Resident Empowerment and Community Economic Development, was the vision and creation of Mr. Charley H. Fisher III, who, in addition to being one of Sherrill's (earliest) Mentors, would (later) become elected to the City of Buffalo's Common Council, and 'at' the Council Member At-Large Seat.

Each of these (earlier) Advocacy Efforts contributed to Sherrill's startup, during Y2K, of Community Technology Resource Centre [CTRC]™, an not-for-profit entity set upon the establishment of brick-and-mortar, urban, inner-core i.e. "inner-city" neighborhood-based (free, membership subscription) Community Computing Labs. CTRC™s are structured to fill service gaps that challenge the Technology Learning and Access Opportunity, of low-income households': Adults, Elders/Seniors, Disabled Persons, Teens, and young Children, including Toddlers.

𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞: CTRC's technology forerunner was Ms. Sherrill's Buffalo Free-Net® based Black Issues of Buffalo [BIB]™ Special Interest Group, or SIG, and which was, in essence, an Electronic Bulletin Board Service [BBS]®. The (first) CTRC Site, was located in the Kenfield Homes | Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority's Family Residential Apartments Complex. Longtime Ferry-Grider Apartments | BMHA Tenant Council President and BMHA (Resident-elected) Commissioner Ms. Mary Rogers (Deceased), May she Rest In Power, May she Rest In Peace, was instrumental in garnering (both) Resident-Tenant, as well as Agency support, for that Initiative, and which progress was comported while Sherrill was a (then) full-time employee of the County Of Erie (NY) Sheriff's Department, as a Deputy Sheriff Officer.
