Yvois is a Berlin-based beatmaker and producer. The artist was born in Aotearoa (New Zealand), and has spent time in Canada before embedding herself in Germany and its electronic scene. Yvois makes electronica from samples and found sounds, in line with artists like Four Tet and Caribou. 

She is also the founder of Éclat Crew Berlin, a collective of female*, trans & non-binary electronic music producers, as well as a member of Beat Retreat Collective. Her debut EP - When We Dressed In Gold - will be released via Ryan Hemsworth’s label Secret Songs digitally on May 28, 2021.

初めまして。リックと申します。カナダのバンクーバーに住んでいます。私はKoganeというアーティスト名で音楽を作成しています。10歳の頃に趣味でギターを始めたことをきっかけに、2017年には本格的に作曲を始めました。

今回リリースする私のデビューアルバム「All Together」の作成の始まりは2019年の夏で、カナダとメキシコで作りました。そして、約2年間かけてようやく皆さんにお届け出来ることになりました。このアルバムでは、エクスペリメンタルな部分がありながらも、気分をあげてくれるような音楽になっています。1曲目では、2018年に初めてリリースしたEP「Traces」と似たイメージの曲で始まります。今回初めてのアルバムをリリース出来ることは、当時「Traces」をリリースした時と重なる想いがあったため、それを表現しました。2曲目以降は、曲ごとにそれぞれタイプが異なるので、その変化を楽しんでもらえるのではないかと思います。

私は全ての曲に様々なイメージや深い意味を込めて作りました。ですが、聞いて下さる皆さんには、各々自由にイメージを膨らませながら楽しんで聞いてくれると嬉しいです。

His sounds range from crickets to video game SFX; melodies are jazzy but as full of emotion as something from Shlohmo... or emo Blink 182 era; but his drums kind of beat you to a pulp. I think he's really part of this next movement that's going to be run by producers who grew up caring more about rock and R&B than dance music."
