Dontashia is mystical 24 year old who is native to Oakland, CA. She embodies the true essence of that 70s & 80s funky RNB sound. The first 10 years of her life was spent listening to mainly her grandparents and mothers records which led her to dream of a career in music. She branched off into an interest of hip-hop around this age and studied those great MCees of the past. In middle school, she read Tupac's "A Rose That Grew From Concrete" which inspired her to start writing poetry. In highschool, she began to further cultivate her artistic talents by doing creative, poetry, and songwriting. Although singing was her god given passion from birth, she grew to love the aspect of writing and spoken word.  Growing up in Oakland shes seen what peer pressure, drugs, violence, and a rising deaths rate can do to a person's soul. This environment inspired her to make music that could heal her generation.
