Our next guest comes from a South American metropolis and recently made his debut on Ombra INTL: Medellin's Ravetop is a versatile producer with his own and self-titled label, a true filter of all music captured through his listening experience overtime. He preserves the purest components of its roots, looking for diversity and innovation and describes himself as "Electro Clash lover, House & Techno rhythm player, EBM, New Beat and Italo synthesis seeker". Colombia has its new rising talent and Blank Wave a great catch for guest mix no. 16!

Pour ce nouvel épisode du Foutoir, on a l'honneur d'accueillir parmi nous : @arvin_t ! Conseiller le jour et DJ la nuit, élevé et façonné par les sons de la new wave, de la trance précoce, de la techno du Midwest et de la disco iranienne, ce DJ et producteur désormais basé à Brooklyn, lorsqu'il n'agit pas comme l'un des critiques culturels postmodernes de la scène locale, est un sélectionneur qui joue courageusement avec l'italowave, l'EBM, l'électro et la techno pour les combiner et créer des sets sans fin, uniques et entraînants. Il est d'ailleurs désormais une des figures emblématiques de cette scène aux côtés d'@andi80s (que nous recevions pour l'épisode #124) et @facets-music pour les incontournables @synthicidenyc... Avec son mélange unique de genres favoris, les performances d'Arvin ressemblent au voyage classique du héros enveloppé dans le néon des années 1980: des synthés indulgents dansent avec des kicks en platine et des lignes de basse plus sombres pour forger un chemin de pics et de vallées musicales émotionnellement émouvantes.

After finding inspiration in the dynamic sets of Identified Patient and Helena Hauff, Matra ventured into DJing in 2019. Developing his sound, Matra cultivated a deep appreciation for a variety of unpolished electronic genres, eventually gracing the decks at various club nights in Nijmegen (such as Planet Rose, Subcultuur, and Calor) and beyond in the Netherlands (including Fabrik Festival Arnhem; Courtoisy and BacktoBase in Rotterdam). His repertoire and mixing style blend dark, mechanized tracks with more playful and lightweight electronic sounds, occupying a unique space at the intersection of Italo, Electro, and EBM.
 
In 2023, Matra embarked on his residency 'Sin City' at Open Source Radio, where he invites spoken word artists to combine sound and word, exploring themes of sin such as lust and anger. Additionally, he co-founded 'Corpo Collective,' an organization dedicated to curating events in Nijmegen spotlighting EBM, IBM, and other unconventional electronic sounds. The first events featured headliners Marsman and Lennart.
 
Despite his profession as a medical doctor, Matra remains committed to spreading his esoteric sound to new cities and audiences.
