Gabriel Prokofiev’s "Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra No. 2" pushes the boundaries of classical music by integrating a DJ soloist directly into the orchestral soundscape. Composed in 2011, the concerto builds on the innovative spirit of his first turntable concerto, fusing live scratching, electronic effects, and bold rhythmic interplay with the expressive range of the symphony orchestra. The result is a captivating, genre-bending work that highlights the artistry of the DJ as both collaborator and virtuoso, inviting listeners to experience the unexpected harmony between urban music and classical tradition.
