“Súnmọ́” is a song about intimacy. It is a direct expression of what Apostle James speaks of in James 4:8: “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you…”. The simplicity of that scripture is captured in the chorus of the song as it concludes that in every area, from the inside out, when we draw near to God, He draws near to us. “Súnmọ́” means “to be close, to adhere” in Yoruba and that is the theme of this song, it’s about choosing to draw close to God.

“Options” is a song about choice. It’s about deciding to focus on God over the world, over worries, fears, and even seemingly good things. In a world filled with so many distractions and possibilities, it can be “difficult” and “unattractive” to choose God but it’s a choice we must make daily. “

“Dr Shimmy” is a culmination of seven years of studying. From my undergrad to the completion of my PhD, God has been faithful, and this is just my way of shouting it form the rooftops how faithful He has been. The song also has a special shoutout to my family represented by my sisters who you can hear shouting in the intro. They and my friends have really helped me every step of the way and I am massively grateful to God for them ❤️

“Come Closer” is the song you write when you find that person you want to spend the rest of your life with. It’s a song celebrating godly love between a man and a woman. I started writing this song in 2019, at which point I was single. I wrote parts of the first verse, but I could not finish it. I believed that I could not finish the song until the right person came along. Two years later, my fiancé came along, and we have not looked back since!

Come Closer (Bá Mi Jó)

“Supa Strika” is a song about Evangelism. Shimon and Ebzy draw similarities between the path to being a successful footballer and being a preacher of the gospel. The aim of the song is to encourage listeners (particularly those interested in football) to go out there and preach the gospel, to be vessels through which souls are saved with the same ferocity as a top striker would score goals!
