This EP "Empty set" is a part of collaboration project with Runa Ikeda in 2024-2025

The collaboration project “Empty Set” by Runa Ikeda and Shinichiro Ikeda explores themes of emptiness, space and cycles.

Runa’s work expresses a world where time and eternity intertwine through her art and the installation itself, while also highlighting the beauty of emptiness and the cycles of life.

Shinichiro’s sound installation features an immersive sound experience with Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 channels, blending analog elements like cassette tapes with contemporary soundscapes.

Together, their project encourages reflection on the interplay of the rhythm of life and silence, deepening the understanding of existence and the possibilities within emptiness.

The third and final part of the "waldgeschichten" 12inch series highlights and expands upon pole´s distinctive sound, connecting to the first two parts of the trilogy in a charming way. Again a fundamental element is the very specific drum sound embedded in complex dubby structures, seamlessly unified with the warm and deep basslines.

If you have had the pleasure of listening to one of pole´s live concerts recently, then you will immediately recognize the "lurch" and "moos".


 

After the stripped down second part of the trilogy, with its wintery atmosphere, these tracks appear to be floating in melancholy. The field recordings and sounds fade away into echoes, grounded with massive bass.

 

This is a perfect conclusion to the series, offering a foretaste of the upcoming pole album.

Shinichiro Ikeda is a Berlin-based composer and sound artist whose work bridges ambient, experimental, and contemporary electronic music. Using synthesizers, field recordings, and spatial audio, Ikeda crafts minimalist yet immersive sonic environments that invite deep listening and introspection. His creative practice includes Dolby Atmos (7.1.4) installations, live electronic performances, and collaborations with Berlin’s iyi collective. Rooted in the dialogue between memory, place, and solitude, his compositions evoke fragile architectures of sound, where emotion and atmosphere intertwine.
