Air chrysalises appear in the book 1Q84, along with the little people. The build up of this track is heavily inspired by Little People's "Basique". So I combined two things I admire.

A quite slow and repetitive tune to let your mind float to. This track features guitar and bass samples played by the awesome Mads Rømer. Even though I only use small bits of it, it makes the track extra rich.

Altid Nye Lyde

Mixing an analog bass line synth with an electric bass riff played by Mads Rømer.

I had the beat lying around for almost a year before one day pairing it up with the bass riff.

I am a big fan of the Late Night Tales compilations. Once mentioning it in conversation, I got the reply: "Late night whales?". I thought it was a great image and could see them floating about in the blackest blue sea.

The arrangement is homemade, but it is inspired by Hardfloor and the likes. The vocal sample is from the 1976 western The Outlaw Josey Wales.
