Melbourne/Naarm based band Shiny Coin make garage pop music. Ways to describe it: fun with darkness. Distortion with brightness. A welcome simplicity and lyrical directness, humour in ennui and love songs for canines. Dreamy, not sleepy. Catchy and unpretentious. 

A short list of recent-ish efforts: A 2017 split with local indie outfit SPIT, shows supporting Tigers Jaw and the Courtneys, and a tour with Jess Locke up and down the east coast of Australia.
Keeping busy during the pandemic, singer Sharni has been making the most of the dollar and using the children she works with at Isabel Henderson Kindergarten to write songs for her.
