Emerging from Spain's Golden years in the early 2000s is Sau Poler, an electronic musician and producer from Barcelona, proving an exclusive mix for us here at DHA.

In 2015, the Badalona-born musician toured Amsterdam, New York, Barcelona, Montreal, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Mexico, and Calgary. He was invited to play at the Boiler Room Generator show in Barcelona, all the meanwhile remixing Touch Sensitive for the Australian label Future Classic. Since 2013, he has released 3 EPs and an album via Atomnation, and was invited by Sonar Copenhagen & Transmusicales to perform a live set.

Sau Poler - DHA Mixtape #203

Frankfurt based producer, DJ and music lover Martin Heimann presents his debut single “Salto” on Carry On 008. Remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while.
 
Enrooted in the soundscapes of 80s proto house the original version of “Salto” is a thriving piece of octave liberation. Consistent changes between harmonics break up the repetitive structure, while FM pads and the 303 are performing a little duet. 

The release is ennobled by two proper remixes from Moon B (Peoples Potential Unlimited) and Jex Opolis (Good Timin’). While Moon B keeps it bubblin’ with some extra analogue funk bounce and subtle Italo dance floor energy, the B-Side is Jexi-fied with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. On top Mr. Opolis adds some mysterious but cheesy vocals that match perfect with the moody 80s orchestral stabs.

A seasoned purveyor of deep grooves, he’s produced and released over 100 tracks and remixes under the Shiny Objects moniker and other aliases. As a DJ, Chris has shared his sound across dance floors in mysterious lands such as San Francisco, Black Rock City, Tulum, Ibiza, Dubai, Tokyo and Belden for over 20 years. Also a core member of the Burning Man camp Disco Knights, this Shiny guy is no stranger to bringing deep psychedelic vibes to the playa. When he’s not bringing the funk, Mr. Objects is hard at work running the Om label and getting shit done in his role as founder at SF’s Monarch nightclub and Up All Night.
