Born from the union of French luthier Christophe Micou and Québécois writer Éric McComber, Ship of Fools started to gear up at the end of november 2013. Anchored for many months at Studio Bangratz in Sauve, Gard, and with the precious help of sound engineer Henri Di Cristo, Le Ship completed its 12-song album by the end of june 2014. Four DIY videos were added during those feverish months of preparation for the voyage.

Several seasoned shipmates came to lend a hand: legendary Saxophonist Richard Raux (Magma), acclaimed bluesman Adrian Byron Burns (Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings), singers Coralie Col Troncia, Marine Vidal, Wanda Skykiss, Cécile Guillemat, Stéphanie Boël and Jean-François Thibaud, guitarist Adrien Gaubert, percussionist Wanda Costantini, drummers Loïs Bouma and Sébastien XYZ, photographer Hélène Canaud, video artist Audrey Lagier, actress Clémentine Sauvand, hairy purry Modestine and web marketter Gili Gershonok. 

In its hull of maple and plane tree, Le Ship hauls a hundred and one chests of salted blues, eighty sacks of smoked rock, thirty-nine ropes of gamey funk, sixteen gallons of marinated folk, eleven ounces of hard boiled country, seven sachets of hard powder and one ampulla of jazz liqueur. 

Le Ship’s maiden run is shuttling between Glenzeppelin, Creedenceford, Leonardcohenstad, l’Île-aux-Stones, Port-Beatles, Muddywatersburg, Isle-of-Band, Dylanstown, Lanoisville, Floydcity and Saint-Guthrie.
