Monster Kid swaps with Asriel, definitively. Now, I'm not gonna go further into much details for now, but Monster Kid is not an adoptive child of Toriel nor Asgore. However, Monster Kid was the last of their species. One day, they met with Frisk and became their 'the coolest buddy"! On top of that, the tree that appears in front of Toriel's house swaps with the memorial statue. Meaning, this music will only play if you find a tape deck behind the memorial tree.
