IV is the result of taking the #AlbumWritingClub Challenge...alas not an LP, but an EP, with 4 diverse (as usual) genre tracks. Choosing a favourite has been difficult, but the track that moves me the most in "In My Dreams", an emotional track about being left alone when someone you love passes away. Inspired by Vic & Edie in Craig Silvey's "Honeybee"

A Life (GB Strategem Remix)

Inspired by Australian author Craig Silvey’s novel “Honeybee”, in which a young 14 year old about to jump of a bridge sees an elderly man about to do the same thing, and they both stop and a close bond is created between them. Vic, the elderly gentleman, had lost hope when his wife passed away, and his love for her was straight from the heart. This was one of the reasons why he had decided to end his life…to be with her. Their love was special, and this song is about that love, and the loss.

So I open the door to the darkness, flick the light-switch down
Suddenly my old friend falls onto the floor
I show him to the armchair sitting in the lounge room, he sits down
And the bright lamp illuminates his shadow right onto the door

I’m rocking with a lobster, and shucking some oysters
With a haddock in a paddock and I’m fightin’ some whitin’
“Hey bro, what’s the shizzle with this drizzle you’re writin’?”
Sorry man, didn’t plan on the verbal diarrhea 
Must have been the MSG on those prawns from South Korea
Russell had a tussle with a mussel no kid
And we finished it off with some salt’n’pepper squid
