Shirley Guo, a.k.a. Shirfine, currently based in Los Angeles, is an award-winning independent musician, animator and multimedia artist with an M.F.A. in Animation. Well-known for her ethereal, melodic and soothing music. 

Her most well-known single “Illusionary Daytime” has received over 440,000,000 streams and 280,000 comments on NetEase Music, as well as billions of streams across all music platforms and social media videos around the world. Since July 2020, “Illusionary Daytime” has been on Shazam Top 50 & Top 200 Charts worldwide in twenty countries for months. In 2019, it entered Spotify Official Vietnam Viral Chart Top 50 and stayed for weeks.

As the visual artist Shirley Guo, she is active in the U.S.A. Her first experimental art film “Re-“ has been selected at major festivals such as Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, ANIMAZE Montreal International Animation Film Festival, and other art festivals like Punto y Raya Festival. 

Appreciating various genres of music from neo-classical to pop/R&B, mainstream to niche, and Influenced by the genre of jazz hip hop music, she creates music with her own original piano pieces and developed her unique musical style. She started to play the piano for the first time at the age of 3 and a half, and began composing at 15. 

At 21 years of age, her debut original album "Every Piece of Love and Misery" came out on October 18, 2012, which was critically acclaimed for a long time after being released. The single "Imaginary Kiss" reached the 3rd spot of the Sina Weekly Charts (Vol.35) and the 6th spot of the Sina Weekly Charts (Vol.36). The album "Every Piece of Love and Misery" and the single "Breathless" were nominated for Albums of the Year and Songs of the Year respectively at the 2012 Abilu Music Awards held by Douban.com. Besides, Shirfine was nominated for Musicians of the Year at three Abilu Music Awards from 2012 to 2014 and won in 2013. After only being given a free listen, her informally released single "Sweet Lies" has received about 220,000 plays on Sina.com.

As a multi-talented artist, Shirley explores diverse ways of creating art aiming to tell the outer world about what she experiences, sees, and thinks, how she feels, and who she is.
