"How does it feel to know you're a dying person?". That's the theme 6 fellow students and I chose for a collaboration project.

In the past 6 months we produced 4 conceptual electronic tracks with multiple producers, instrumentalists and a singer/songwriter. 
The tracks represent phases you might go through when you've heard that you're dying. We think those phases are: denial, aggression, depression and acceptance. We chose to depict these emotions in music and used these phases as the track titles.

Since we were doing this project with 4 producers (including me) and 3 instrumentalists, each producer produced 1 track. I personally produced the second track, called Aggression.

It has been an awesome challenge to make sure the tracks were convincing enough and fit together perfectly. I also did the mastering to enhance the cohesion of the tracks.

As a person dealing with irrational fears and insecurities sometimes, I shelved so many songs I worked on, thinking they “weren't done yet” or were “just not good enough”. Lately I've been thinking, all this unfinished business is driving me crazy, why don't I just listen to the people telling me that I need to put aside my perfectionism and just throw some songs on the web. So, that's what this is. I guess I have to treasure “reckless” moments like these in which I decide to just upload something and forget about it.

About the song, I think this might be one of my most vulnerable songs, since I'm the one that's singing. I've always felt particularly insecure about singing, but.. I'm not THAT bad at it, am I?

I like experimenting with sound. I tend to use instruments exactly in a way they shouldn't be used. Putting a hundred effects and plugins on one sound isn't uncommon in my workflow. Weird new sounds captivate and inspire me. I find that most of the time, my music tells a story or captures an emotion I cannot explain in words, just in music and sound. Ah well, you should probably just listen.
