Most people's eyes are a window into their soul and psychedelic people's are more redder and deeper than the normal people. Childhood in 7/8 time: Istanbul Before Twelve smells of simit and the sea; it sounds like ferry horns, spoon percussion, and merchants’ cries. Makam melodies meet nu-jazz soul—warm, handcrafted, alive.



This is my first map of Istanbul—from the courtyard to the ferry, from the tea garden to the Grand Bazaar. You’ll hear makam colors, microtones, and aksak grooves in 7/8 and 9/8; saz, oud, kanun, ney, kaval, zurna, darbuka, and davul telling how the city sounded to me before I turned twelve.
Each track is a scene: our block, the neighbor, Teacher Veli (stern and kind), friendship and hospitality, the green valleys, the Bosphorus, the nights, the tea garden, and the journey forward. Between seagulls and ferry horns, nu-jazz and soul blend with a hint of djent—honest, warm, handcrafted.
Not nostalgia in sepia—living memory. If you know how tea tastes like home, press play.

The Neighbor (Komşu)

A therapeutic journey into a mix of jazz, classical, and a blend of types of electronica.  And a wry, gradual observation that promotion tends to only go as far as you push it.  At least I make my fellow musicians laugh a little.
