I just did a slight bit of research on the obscurity of this magical piece of artistry and music. I found a brief conversation in the Spotify community message boards. The label that released the song to the producers of the 1998 "American Pie" film did not release anything after 1999, likely financial struggles. It's really sad. It looks like no additional legal agreements could be made with other distribution options before going under. The song will stay in piracy purgatory and limestone archives until someone can come along and buy up all of the rights to distribute it and collect necessary royalties.
