In the vast, deep forests of history, long have the inhabitants of Earth
sought connection with nature and other forms of life on this planet.
Though humanity’s chapter within this greater story has been short,
their innate ability to form this link through increasingly inventive
means has lead to the development of exotic tools, complex
languages, and a colorful web of cultures that in just a few millennia
has come to span the entire surface of the globe.

Within this elaborate web, there are artists like Jakare: an electro-
folkloric duo that wields the emotional language of music as a tool for
exploring the endless frontiers of the human experience. Their
upcoming release — ‘Apu Remixes‘ — continues in their musical
tradition of blending Old- and New-world instrumentation with modern
production techniques by inviting five musical visionaries from the
electronic world to partake in the celebrated ritual of remixing,
beginning with deep tribal producer and Resueño label head
Mose.

Leading off the collection with a stirring rendition of Jakare’s
ceremonial “Cleansing,” Mose’s remix quickly draws listeners into a
landscape colored by downtempo atmospheres and fueled by a
holographic collection of synths, beats, samples, and cleverly-woven
instrumental sequences. Rooted in both acoustic and electronic
components to provide a rising and falling emotional tale, the track
plays true to Mose’s intention of crafting musical journeys and teases
the essence of the greater collection by showcasing the versatility of
“organic house” and its numerous global influences.

Released on Summer Solstice 2021 and born from three world-renowned artists from three continents, “Jai Shiva Shankar” is the incredible new single by Franko Heke, Monica Dogra, and Mose. Call it what you will — serendipity, magic, destiny — something special brought these three vanguard artists together to create this 6-minute dance mantra combination. When it comes to the fusion of these genres, this is a first for New Zealand native Franko Heke, who remarks, “Jai Shiva Shankar is a mantra that came to me on my travels through India and it represents Shiva the creator, protector and transformer of the universe. Shiva and Shakti represent the masculine and feminine that resides in us all.” It is in Bali where Franko met Monica Dogra, the Indian-American powerhouse vocalist who has released five albums with Mumbaikar electronic duo Shaa’ir and Func. 

Gorgeous harmonies between Heke and Dogra breathe spiritual energy into this mantra-driven composition. Underneath and interwoven through the vocals we hear haunting Indian flute, Egyptian drums, tabla, and oud. Guatemala-based ecstatic dance DJ and producer Mose transforms the grounded rhythm section into a series of tasty grooves that are indulgently danceable and beckon for movement. This well-balanced piece repeats the title mantra “Jai Shiva Shankar” alongside instrumental and vocal bridges that are ethereal and rich with emotional energy, revealing that Franko Heke, Monica Dogra, and Mose are the healing trifecta we didn’t know we needed this summer solstice.

Super excited to share the first part of this 3.5 hour journey i had the privilege to play at this incredible gathering, 12 hours of pure bliss, music, nature, community and healing . 
My experience playing this set was incredible, powerful and transformative. more than 200 beautiful souls got to dance and express our spirit around the sacred fire . moving, praying and celebrating life and love.
The vibration of this set is deep and shamanic as well as uplifting and joyful full with wide range of sounds from all over the world. 
I want to share my gratitude to the amazing producers and creators of this intentional ceremony in the beauty of nature.

OMG what a powerful & beautiful experience!
Words don't come easy to describe this evening...so I just say it was truly abundant & magical in every way and I felt sooo much aliveness & joy that it felt like I could immerse myself in a cloud of love!

I named the Journey "Full Circle" as I we had the honour & blessing to co-create in this venue for almost exactly one year and this was our last event there... 
also we could go through all the seasons of the year once with our tribe in this location and finally for the final celebration the circle of people being present was as "full" as it could be an the collective energy was so powerful that I felt totally high on life & love!

I hope you can feel the energy & joy of our good bye celebration by listening as well... and feel free to dance : )

Lemuria is often spoken about as an ancient civilisation, a peaceful world that lived in harmony with nature, where beings were less dense, more light, deeply hearth centered and intuitive. 

But beyond the myth, Lemuria exists as a frequency. A field of unconditional love, harmony, and deep emotional remembrance. It is the energy of returning home to the ocean inside yourself. The feeling of floating, of softening, of dissolving into something bigger and more ancient than words.

For me, Lemuria is not a story of the past. It is a vibration we can access now. Through water, through sound, through breath, and through the heart. This track was channeled from that frequency: slow, fluid, oceanic, carrying pieces of memory I never learned but somehow remember.

This is an offering from the deep. 
A remembrance, a rising, a return.

Released on the acclaimed Desert Trax imprint, Jakare’s ‘Apu’ EP is the culmination of all that’s dear about both artists’ creative vision, blending intricate technical design with melodic tenderness and biophilic atmospherics. The artists’ choice to pursue these new avenues of shamanic downtempo music reflects their willingness to start afresh under a new alias and pursue experimentation without the pre-conceived associations with their solo projects.

In the course of four songs, the duo paint a truly vivid picture of ancient life in nature and taking inspiration from different modern cultures; from the slight nod to the bluesy Latin American marshes of ‘Cleansing’, Andean flavours on ‘Glass Temple’, the instrumental grooves of ‘GloBall’ and aquatic night time swims in ‘Moon Howl’, the EP stays consistent in its overall aesthetic and harmoniousness throughout. The duo utilise charango, classic guitars, electric guitar, pan flute, shakers, percussions to bring the organic sound, while relying on their masterful sound design techniques to develop cinematic field-recording-based atmospherics.
