Presenting the new mix by Baxtak, the Shivelight co-manager and founder of  @Outtallectuals  label. This mix is curated with the theme of ethereal adventure music that welcomes the summer months after the cold. The collection of songs have a cinematic flow with a predominantly Baltic & Northern European feel across the song with music from artists like Helbrede and Liholesie. While the mix starts off darker and more tense, the energy gradually lifts up towards triumph, representing a sense of overcoming.

OZFERTI is a character created by the French beatmaker, musician and illustrator Florian Doucet, to represent the ‘embodiment of the universe’. His music is best described as a melting pot of Ethiopian, Eritrean and Nigerian vibes mixed with elements of electronica, jazz, hip hop and bass music.

After months of musical and graphic research, his first album ADDIS ABOUMBAP was released in May 2016, obtaining widespread support from underground and also established, DJs, press and radio Ozferti reveals himself on stage as a versatile multi-instrumentalist who swiftly juggles with machines, a guitar and even his own created video animations.

The artists’ choice to pursue these new avenues of shamanic downtempo music reflects their willingness to start afresh under a new alias and pursue experimentation without the pre-conceived associations with their solo projects.

In the course of four songs, the duo paint a truly vivid picture of ancient life in nature and taking inspiration from different modern cultures; from the slight nod to the bluesy Latin American marshes of ‘Cleansing’, Andean flavours on ‘Glass Temple’, the instrumental grooves of ‘GloBall’ and aquatic night time swims in ‘Moon Howl’, the EP stays consistent in its overall aesthetic and harmoniousness throughout. The duo utilise charango, classic guitars, electric guitar, pan flute, shakers, percussions to bring the organic sound, while relying on their masterful sound design techniques to develop cinematic field-recording-based atmospherics.

Alix & his friends come back victorious to their village.

The supplies gathered from the Engine Steeling will come in handy & the Essence harvested will appease the Harvesters & replenish the vigour of the villagers.

The day after, the young ones gather for the next challenge: The rite of Community.

The town elder, grandfather of Rey, guides them to the resting grounds.

Here their ancestors lie buried, though not completely dead.

Their spirit lives on in their Essence, buried with them.

People of the tribes can summon their spirit, to ask for guidance, to see their loved ones once again. Until their Essence is completely depleted, their connection to the Rings & the Harvesters is lost.

Now, Alix, Rey & Dao must learn how to summon their ancestors in their pursuit of their Calling.
