Following EXHALE’s first VA release in 2020, the party series by @amelielens turned label once again welcomes existing members, flourishing producers and blossoming new artists to the EXHALE family for its second various artists compilation.

Opening the record are hardware aficionados @999999999music with ‘Alarm 303’ - a powerful techno floor destroyer armed with a reverberating kick, rushy rave stabs and a barrage of alarms. Promising newcomer @jastice_music presents an energetic ravey cut that weaves between faded synths and a softened vocal, accompanied by an entrancing interlude with ‘Hey You’. Mancunian producer @kontainmcrr dishes out ‘Neck Crank’, a hybrid of gritty rumbling bass chords, strident synths and an unwavering kick. Istanbul’s @grafinmusic continues by deftly combining electronic stabs, flurried hi-hats and gravitating synths layered above the melody in ‘Chatty Echoes’.

Following is ‘Bóg Jest w Techno’ event boss @septonly, who presents us with a stripped back cut layered with piercing synth keys and gentle electro elements in ‘Beyond The Veil’. Acid stabs and a female voice echo the track title in @raven's trippy cut ‘Metal On Metal’, with light airy synths to close out that simulate euphoria. We’re taken on a dark and weightier expedition with @frazi_er in ‘Systematic Ignorance’ - a brooding bass drives the sound, with acid melodies adding texture throughout. Keeping up pace is ‘Kendall’ by @trymofficial, a cinematic composition that utilises cymbals, hi-hats and synth notes to create a brighter melody over its dark percussion.

Rounding off is London techno talent @charlie-sparks-531540495 who equips the record with weapon ‘Tataki’, combining Japanese vocals with acid 303’s, sirens and powerful kick drums. Next up we have @under-black-helmet with ‘Rogue’, an industrial style track that uses familiar dark themes characterized by distorted keys and commanding kicks. Brooklyn’s @xiorro follows with ‘Healing Colors’ featuring Adrestia, with a yearning distorted vocal sample, protruding percussion and jagged synth keys. The finale is delivered by EXHALE mainstay @ahl-iver’s ‘There Is Always Light’ - a trancy endeavour that juggles hi-hats and cymbals with twinkling euphoric synth keys and long waning bass chords.

Jey Kurmis is set to be a name on the rise after the ‘Lil’ Nic French EP’ drops on Hot Creations later this month. A four pronged attack of bumping summer jams flecked with infectious vocals - lead track ‘Lil’ Nic French’ first appeared on Richy Ahmed’s massive Rinse FM compilation and rightly sets the tone with its heavy bass beat and mind bending acid line. Next up, ‘LA Shazz’ specialises in a chunky percussive groove and heavy low-end. On the flip, ‘Lover’ is an irresistible al fresco affair centred on a super groovy cowbell that builds with tight kicks and a richly textured soundbed. Closing the package, ‘Miss Raadi’ is another deadly groover laced with a dose of freakiness.

Jey Kurmis is a Leeds based producer who has been dj'ing all over the UK for almost ten years and producing for around 7 years. From his first release on Phobic Records to this artist defining EP for Hot Creations, Jey has been honing his craft across ten releases and this EP has been getting championed by some of the biggest names in the game including Heidi, Jamie Jones, Richy Ahmed and wAFF.

Having been selected by Ushuaia as one of their ‘Top tracks for summer 2017’ James Campbell follows up with new single ‘Faith’ – a stunning example of a unique and melodically soulful track aimed firmly at the dance-floor. Honing in on his ability to produce something utterly different and refusing to follow the trends, James Campbell weaves Anette Taylor’s soulful vocals in between uplifting string melodies to craft a truly magical piece of music. 

He has spent the past 3 seasons in Ibiza steadily making a name for himself, holding regular DJ slots at the likes of Café Mambo, Nikki Beach, as well as club nights including Do Not Sleep, Abode and Together. His debut EP ‘Arrival/Solar’ has been received to critical acclaim, having been handpicked by elrow to feature on their debut compilation, ‘Faith’ will no doubt surpass those achievements and more.
