This song is about my own struggles in dealing with emotions and in feeling apathetic to most things in life. Which, needless to say, bothers me. The chorus "I need a heart attack... shock my system to enlist in all these things that I want to go.... I want to live this life i've been given." Is saying the cliche "I'd rather feel hurt than nothing," not because I want to feel emotional pain, but I just want to be able to experience life and be emotionally aware. I don't want to just go through my day to day in a bland way. I want to live life.

Apathy

This song is about relationships.  The chorus, "Cause I was just another distraction. As if you'd think I'd really mind. When I was just your current attraction, filling space and killing time." Points out that we just seem to use people in today's society. I've felt used like this before, and sadly, I've used people like this before. We should strive to be open and vulnerable with the ones we care for and start treating people like people. Show compassion, show empathy, be understanding. Stop treating people as distractions.
