*Keith makes observations everywhere he goes, and in this instance, his tours of local castles led to this idea - those great, huge, thickly-hewn doors are actually hung on very small hinges. Of course, Terry sees the image as a metaphor -great change often begins with small starts. Literal or metaphorical? We 'll leave that up to the listener.

Sweat and Desires

Bob Dylan's "Roll On John" is an elegy to John Lennon, inspired by a public minibus tour Dylan took of Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool in 2009. The song explores themes of fame, aging, and mortality, contrasting Lennon's tragic death with the enduring legacy of St. John the Apostle, another "John" who suffered but whose "light" shines on. 
The Stanleys come from Liverpool and initialy made this cover  from a jam session as John Lennon has always been a big influence. 
The Beatles tour starts at a near by place called The Picton Clock and Dylan’s visit is well known here in Wavertree Liverpool. Our take on this song which is over 5 minutes may have a difficult time getting heard for obvious reasons. Recently it was pointed out that all the songs on Rubber Soul are around 2 minutes long. OK, since you guys are enjoying the guitar (or rather, the guitars) in "Do What You Like" 🎸(https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/do-what-you-like) so much, and since you were also curious to actually see the mess that created this sound, here you go! This is basically the “making of” the song, mainly based on a part that was later discarded, complete with a rather comical little sketch and Mary at some point asking Tom to switch to another effects chain (switch, switch! Well, that’s how she puts it!), plus a bunch of other nonsense we’re deeply ashamed of and really shouldn’t be releasing to the whole world ! Oh well… goodbye decency, and goodbye ears for you all (it’s all in English and the laughs are interplanetary… the only word in Italian is Tom’s “basta!” at the end, which means “enough!”)!😂
Oh, by the way, some of you asked about the effects chain we used. Well, maybe we’ll update this description later (time permitting, with our day jobs and three other songs in the making!), and reveal a bit more! Cheers!🫶
