When Manuel sent me a guitar track over a year ago I fairly quickly decided to write an epilogue for Major Tom. Little did I know that I would end up taking a longish break from writing music. With infinite patience Manuel waited for me until now and to my even greater surprise this retro lyric has become almost current with the two NASA astronauts in space waiting for their return trip to Earth.

Quiet Desperation

So near the beginning of 2020, I just lost faith in music and quit. The world changed from a pandemic, and I just didn’t want to do it anymore. In 2022, I started scratching the itch a little bit with synthesizer music that would be soundtrack type stuff and did several collections of songs that nobody will probably ever hear. It was how I began to cope with everything. In 2024, at the lowest I’ve ever felt in my life, I’ve found my way back here…ten years since I started Behold the Sludge…playing…singing…trying to find myself again.

Brutalist 1960s iconic 'streets in the sky' complex - Park Hill Flats gained listed (protected) status and has been (and is still being) renovated (and sold). 
Many memories of the early post-slum clearance days must resonate with its previous residents who were moved out to 
make way for the developers.....
