A sweet little fun tune, starting off with the Acoustic Guitar trying to imitate a piano playing the Bass and treble notes all in one , bringing in the Bass 1st Chorus, then the Brush Shuffle drum kit with a lovely kick drum. Vocal & Acoustic solo . Hope you like it.

Most small towns have something they're known for;  it might be a building or a statue, or some famous person who lived there.  When I was a Baptist pastor forty years ago in the little town of St Francis, Kansas, it was the "Walkin' Boys.  Not exactly "boys", they were three middle-aged brothers who were probably autistic and lived at the local nursing home called "The Village".  Their parents made provision for them to live there after they passed away so they would be well taken care of.  What made them so memorable was they would venture out every day from the Village regardless of the weather and walk the length of the town, checking their post office box, stopping in at the jewelry store to have their watches set, then proceed out to the cemetery to pay their respects to their parents, then return to the Village.  They would make this three mile trip three times a day if the weather wasn't too extreme, and you could almost set your watch by when they would pass by.  I felt they needed a song, and it is one that's still remembered by those who knew them. I understand the last of the Walkin' Boys passed away just a few years ago having lived to a ripe old age of course--they walked every day:)  The song also features my singing; something that got lost along the way some years ago. You'll also hear a little tape hiss; it was mastered from a forty-year-old cassette:)

They start out from the Village for their daily chore,
They check their mail box then walk to Stewart's jewelry store,

The Rat Palace was our studio from when we first started seriously working together in 2016 until the landlords decided it was time for the artists to go and the tourists to come. It had been Mat's base since 2009 and hosted dozens of artists and musicians since it first started in 2006.
As the name suggests the place was run down, lacked various things like hot water, proper access and heating but it had a vibe, and the people we shared the space with all felt and helped to create it....Art was everything, day after night after day for years.
These 7 improvisations are a tiny fraction of the jams we had there, just a few highlights from 100s of jams. They are raw, unpolished and unconcerned with anything outside the moment. We rarely 'rehearsed' as such at the Rat Palace - just played.
Things come and things go - Vale Rat Palace, you were amazing.

First recorded by Ozzie Nelson and His Orchestra 1931, and sung by many other after this, like Doris Day  Lois Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.....   Its not me playing the piano, i got some help from a friend with the backing track on this...

I thought this song would be suitable for the opening of the album. When I asked SeaShea for guitar, he not only contributed his usual electric guitar but also created some tracks with synthesizers. The song, initially incomplete, reached its completion through his efforts. Collaborating with him has been a fantastic experience.
