This is the foundation of who we are as song-writers, musicians and vocalists. We wander off into electronic, and experimental sounds, but always seem to come back to this - classic Wigmore-Allen-Gibbons! Strong lead vocals from Keith, choral harmonies from Kevin and Terry, and at its core is strong folk-pop song-writing from Keith. And all this wrapped up in a basic band arrangement of guitars, bass, drums. with the age-old tale of young love.

This is a song that originated with Mark, and existed as a song he wrote on the piano after, like many of us, getting back into playing following an extended hiatus. He sent it to me, who added the fretless bass and some delay-heavy electric guitar. After that, Mark added the catchy, powerful drums and made a couple of key editorial changes. Then we got Tez involved, who added not only the screaming guitar parts in the meat of the song, but also the entire coda at the end. Tez also produced and mixed this for us, expertly. This is the first of hopefully many songs Tez and I do with Mark. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Taking only about 30 min to write this seemed a bit of a throw away but had 'live' potential and so it proved. Looking back through life there's moments you would change if you could . . .

Perhaps you need some relief and some peace. Go for a walk, take a deep breath, visit the woods......get outside in nature!!! 
Put a kettle on the fire, sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee OR any beverage of your choice. Relax. Get out of your head.

If you happen to be walking a path in the very early morning you may almost feel the trail itself requesting a new dawn. There will always be a new dawn. Remember that!

This song began as an acoustic guitar and vocals stem written and performed by Steve. He sent it to Josh, who added the undulating staccato bass line, with the help of Ken's always well-suited drums. They went back and forth a couple of times, as is their process, until it clicked. Tez added some really dynamic leads and fills throughout, and Stephen filled in the rest of the electric guitar in a Keith/Ronnie kind of way, which is very tasteful. JJ then added some perfectly complimentary organ. Finally, Ken pleasantly surprised us with the low vocal harmonies. 
Stephen also mixed and produced this one for us. He's brilliant behind the board, and we're lucky to have him aboard. This one came together in a matter of a relatively short period of a fortnight, which is rare for the Eclectic Collective. But, when something is hot and already put together, it comes quickly. We all hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

The increasingly frequent scenes of human destructiveness inspired me for this composition. There is no beauty there. I tried to show the destruction, fear, panic...
