The Carpenters are the Favourite band of all my celebrities.

Their songs have been a part of my childhood, my teenage years and even
now. Especially Karen's voice.
She had a fairly deep, medium-range voice, warm and colorful,
with an exceptional tone.
She was not only a singer, but also a very talented drummer.
Her brother Richard also has an extraordinary voice and does a lot of
backing vocals.

Their two voices alone amply cover the harmony of their tracks.
They're Unique.

I love this song; it's well-paced, as well as the bass and especially the drums.
For me, this song is very hard to sing, 
because the key starts off very low and rises quite high,
and the tempo also increases.

Honestly, I struggled to keep up with the rhythm in both choruses.
As I was saying, my voice isn't what it was 20-30 years ago. 🙂

This track is my very personal take at the Koan "Hear the Clap of your Hand". My lyrics version (https://soundcloud.com/konrad-spittelberg/the-clap-of-one-hand-pp) might make things clearer. (yes, this is my sneaky strategy to guide you from one song to another :-))

Compositionwise, the track is roughly split into two equal parts. The first part introduces its cinematic theme in the very beginning, taking it thereafter up several times with slightly different accentuations and rhythms which gives it a fresh feel with different highlighted nuances in each repetition. Several interludes contribute to the cinematic feeling. 

The second part, starting @1.53 starts by a more Jazzy version of the main theme. However, from 2.20 onwards, it is very restricted in its harmonies - only two harmonies are used from thereon until the end, C major and C# major. The tension arises purely from the rhythmic changes (such as the shift from 4/4 to 3/4 @3.17 and back), climaxing at the end.

A little song called Glow I wrote around 2018 timeframe. It's one of those that came together over time, especially the chorus, it was one of those back burner unfinished songs, but certainly never forgotten. I've always enjoyed playing this melody.  I made a few minor changes not long ago, with the arrangement and a few lyrics, and it really feels complete...finally. Ever meet someone where they put something in you that you feel like you can do anything?  I hope you enjoy this live take I did the other night on my old Baldwin. Man this song has dug in deep for me. I'd say it was possibly the third song I learned on guitar. Polly by Nirvana, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepp and then I probably played this one more then any for a few years. I remember watching my Uncle Liam who just left us, RIP buddy... playing it when I was a teenager and I was in awe. He was such an amazing performer and his playing is possibly the single most important real that made me lean to song writing as opposed to becoming a technically great musician.

This is for you Liam, the Ovation is in, we both played this song more times on that guitar then we could count... The guitar travelled with both of us around Europe years apart (although I only made France and Holland with it 😆🤷🏽). Ovy is now 42! I wouldn't be what I am today without you man. Love ya forever and thanks for teaching me

This song began as an idea Tez came up with on his guitar while on holiday not far from his home in Wales. It had such a solid form, it inspired Mark to write lyrics and come up with vocal melodies within a few days of hearing it for the first time. The two of them have written several songs like this, making them a solid songwriting source for Eclectic Collective. 
  Once the song had a even more solid form, Ken took added his dynamic, bouncy-groove drums to it. As soon as Ken had the drums down, Josh took his turn, adding the fretless bass and solidifying the groove. Now that the basic framework was done, Stephen added his thrilling electric guitar. Last, but certainly not least, JJ added his dancing organ and the really cool, psych synth lead part in the bridge towards the end. Mark also added some awesome backing synth to it, as well, filling out the sound. At the very end of the process, Tez also dropped in the hot intro and outro solos, as well.
  Once we had it all in the can, it was time to turn it over to Tez for his expert production and mix. He came up with the idea of adding reverb to the drums, as well as some other compression tricks, which he employed with subtle style. 
   This, as mentioned, is a great example of what Eclectic Collective can do in house with the composition and songwriting skills of Tez and Mark. The rest of us really had fun working on this one, too, of course. We hope you enjoy listenig to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

Don establishes the feel of the song with his strong rhythm strumming--almost the feel of a Celtic stomp, trying to get the mud off one's boots, but allows me plenty of space for my Requinto guitar that sounds a little like a mandolin in the center-left channel.
