The first release from Shoot Recordings is an absolute scorcher, and showcases the new label’s dedication to forward-thinking sounds and dance floor annihilation.  
 
First up is The Original, a weighty stepper from @ChrissyMurderbot (Loose Squares) that’s part Chicago juke, part Bristol jungle and all heavy-duty funk.  Sporting a half-step intro that drops out into the biggest swooping bassline this side of the classic “26 Bass,” The Original has an old school feel but definitely earns its name.  It's also guaranteed to steam up the club like a hookah in the sauna.
 
Answering the challenge, Pawn (Smog) @pawnsound delivers Your Words, another beyond-genre bass monster that takes it deep without ever losing its dance floor sheen.  Described by label boss @Calculon as “dirty bass music at its finest,” Your Words is a sick amalgamation of Miami bass, dubstep, juke, hip-hop and malt liquor that could murder the subwoofer in your Impala or twerk your girlfriend off a riser in Ibiza.  Next level shit and frankly like nothing you've heard before.

Shoot Recordings’ second release is more trouble, two slabs of next level bass so heavy you won't be able to lift your fucking thumb drive.

Side one is Calculon & Austin Speed’s devastating remix of Chrissy Murderbot’s “the Original.”  Murderbot’s version was a brooding, swooping roller, so Calculon & Speed have jacked it up, sharpened its teeth and laced it with neon. The result is a hardcore dancefloor bohemoth that jumps between genres faster than some fool can try to name them.  In Shoot Recordings style, this remix is just as original as the Original.
 
On the flip it’s Moresounds putting the screws to Pawn’s “Your Words.”  Fresh off his stellar EP for Astrophonica, Moresounds sends Pawn’s damn-near-indescribable masterpiece to deep space, upping the intensity and dropping thick vibes.  It’s hyperactive juke by way of classic Metalheadz, most definitely some platinum breaks. Totally. Disgusting.

The scene is buzzing about the new uptempo sound of Shoot Recordings. Beyond juke, beyond jungle and definitely beyond classification, @ShootRecordings represents the next evolution of bassmusic, energizing dancefloors and thrilling headphone jockeys at the same time.

For the new year, Shoot comes correct with yet another monster that no outdated genre is big enough to to hold.

They call it Larchmont. From @Pawnsound and @Calculon, two dons of the next level, Larchmont roars out of the gate with b-boy flair and classic jungle breaks. But after the drop it's something else entirely, a two-step roller with a juke stutter that builds and builds and until it goes off the rails in a fucking blaze of glory. In the cold heart of winter, Larchmont is a flamethrower of uptempo action to ignite your night.

And then there's the remix from Om Unit. Perhaps no one pushed the bassmusic envelope in 2013 as hard as @OmUnit and his remix of Larchmont continues the trend, flipping the original into a dubbed out half-stepper that starts mean and gets more rugged as it goes. This is dubby, deep-space funk like only Om Unit could do it, but with a Shoot Recordings sheen. The fatness.
