So that when they reconnect with the memories of childhood they experience their inner child & their love for curiosity & adventure!

This song was written about the effect that Sponge Bob had on my childhood.  Even though he was a weirdo to many he was marching or dancing to the boom bap beat of his own drums. While I did not directly sample anything or use any sort of mention for the show in the song this is what sparked the nostalgic sound. Which I then captured with the sounds of a hot tape winding up and cooling down (consistent modulation/speed), paired with dusty drums and a ragtime sounding old piano. So that the idea of rustic nostalgia is apparent and easily consumable.

My first mpc sample based beat. Learned how to do some proper chopping on my MPC with this track and add the in house instruments with additional processing etc. The Idea was to just really capture wherever the beat took me!

Exploring The Depths Of Your Chill : Who Is ShoPaRo?

ShoPaRo’s story starts in the basement of his childhood home with roaring amplifiers playing his favorite punk tunes. Soon he graduated to playing Metal music which led to many years of active performing, countless hours of guitar playing, recording etc. As time went on, his tastes morphed into that of Classical & Jazz Guitar. A taste that had actually formed from his love for Progressive music.

Fast forward to the present time, one can hear the nostalgic influences of the Boom Bap era of Hip Hop, modern Neo Soul guitar playing, and even those ambient undertones of Post Rock. Though his goal is to explore the many depths of chill, it is not in a conventional or modern approach. ShoPaRo uses a method that will appeal to that of true music lovers, those that can understand the meditative effect of distorted guitars as much as the head bobbin’ of Boom Bap style drums. Paired this with the ambience of nature and everyday sounds that surround you. This unique audible experience of sound and melody that is consistently progressing is what one might simply be call . . . ShoPaRo
