Monica's Theme

Shorn Rah is a multidisaplinary Artist, with over 20 years of industry experience. He is the owner of Studio Paranormal, a commercial recording studio in Bath. His main field of expertise is sound design,composition and audio production. However he is an industry leading pro-audio equipment reviewer for the world's leading and most well established Music Tech website, Sonic State. He has worked with the most of the worlds pro audio manufacturers. He has made many films for various music industry entities in Hollywood and the UK, including Grammy award winning Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood. He works closely with friend and colleague double Mercury Prise winner Clive Deamer, the drummer most noted for his work with Portishead, Roni Size and Robert Plant, now drumming with Radiohead. Recently he has personally helped Clive develop his sound prior to current sessions with Radiohead. Shorn graduated with a 2:1 BA Degree in Performance Design and Practice at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London in July 2011. He was invited back as an Associate Lecturer later in the year where he is specialising in sound and lighting design.
Although Shorn has worked with digital audio from its inception, he works now in both digital and analog domains, reaping the benefits of both. He is adept in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Adobe Audition. He has moved recently form Final Cut Pro, which he has worked with for seven years, to Adobe Premiere. He has good Photoshop skills and has a good understanding Flash, Illustrator and After Effects. He enjoys writing and has written a full length play and numerous short screenplays. He has a notably flamboyant friendly personality alongside a highly professional work ethic. Shorn works mainly in London and Bath.
Shorn denies being able to play any instruments, but if he was honest he's actually quiet good on the guitar and bass and really passible on piano and cello. However, when it comes to synthesis, sound design, audio production and general geeky knob tweaking please file under "expert". Warning: You may find him attached to a Mac Book Pro, a hand held audio recorder, his Moog and a very expensive but also very well-worn set of headphones.
