An alternative disco feel, in the style of Jamiroquai or the Bamboos, Short Shadows has called upon Melbourne’s Hannah Jones to do vocals on this infectiously funky tune.

This is a pop song I wrote about Melbourne; it's bound to make you homesick if you're living overseas, but if you're not, I hope it makes you appreciate the simple Melbourne things, like jaywalking and being a coffee snob.

Where were you when you realised you spent too much time worrying about things that didn't matter?  At what point do we have to put things into perspective and and accept the idea that times doesn't wait?  How much time do you think you have?  

These are some of the question that the team at Short Shadows try and explore, with the help of Samuel Francis and Taylor Troeth, in the new single, Tempus Fugit.

This groovy tune has been described as "Hilltop Hoods meets Burt Bacharach" and features the stylistic sounds, beats, samples, horns and Melbourne soundscapes that fans of Short Shadows have come to expect.

What started as a garage project from Melbourne producer Andy Coates, Short Shadows quickly became a popular, party band that play a vast array of styles.  

Short Shadows take soul, indie rock, hip-hop, and ska and blends it all with wry, observational lyrics, punchy horns, urban samples and suburban soundscapes.  The end result is party rock music that you can get down and dance to.  

Hailing from Melbourne's North, and inspired by The Avalanches’ “no sounds are out of bounds” theory, Short Shadows take influence from bands such as The Cat Empire, The Go! Team, Gorillaz and Amy Winehouse.
