Short Sleeve Heart, (SSH) was an American indie rock, soul and blues band from Los Angeles, CA who disbanded at the end of 2017. 
Fronted by Laila’s powerhouse stage presence and soulful vocals and Mike’s evocative guitar licks, the two began writing and performing together in spring 2015. The other main member, Pat, on drums. Over the years, SSH has several stand-in musicians play during performances and select tracks on their albums including Grace on violin and Isaiah, Nate and others on bass. SSH released their 1st EP in 2016, performing all over Los Angeles at private events, screenings and reputable local venues such as The Viper Room, The Dresden, The Mint going and many more. Over the next year, they continued writing original songs and expanding performances between Los Angeles and around Washington, DC, opening for various musicians and notable singer/songwriters. Most notably, SSH has collaborated with Joe Walsh of The Eagles, writing songs together and even opening for him at the Bentonville Film Festival, in Bentonville, Arkansas. In addition, SSH wrote original music for two feature documentaries, “Citizen Soldier” and “Danger Close”, released in fall 2016. There, they worked closely with Cactus Moser, who helped record them in Las Vegas. Moser later went on to produce their 2nd (untitled) album, which was recorded and mixed at Wynonna Judd's estate in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2017, SSH was selected to perform at the Fire Fly Music Festival in Delaware. SSH's songs can still be heard, along with behind the scenes interviews and music videos off the dvd's of the two featured documentaries previously noted.
