Basaec is the label founded by Cadenza chief Luciano as an output for the music of its roots, coming from the Chilean prosperous archives or from brand new productions.
The fourth episode of the series features two extended fleshy cuts of thick dance floor nourishment. “Nature Reverance” is a grandiloquent obscure hypnotic journey to the center of the Earth, permeated of bass frequencies and jazzy drums, exalted by a slithering capturing Leslied organ.
Less inward-looking but still thousands leagues under the sea, “Trance Ilvana” has a shuffled prancing rhythm over an ultra funky stripped down bass line; its swooshes’ and its drops of juicy synthetic quirks sticks smoothly with its driving bass drum.
A generous condensation of timeless electronic funk, and a kaleidoscope of Lucien Nicolet early allure, hard coded in his DNA.

Dylan Griffin and Chad B are well renowned for their collective talents - Dylan’s reputation as a top notch DJ and Chad’s skills behind a mixing desk make up a potent combination. Steve Bug clearly recognises this, and had invited the pair to feature on his Sublease Music imprint - an outlet for deeper sounds. 

'Aperitif' also features, moody, minor chord sounds, adding to a groove that instantly gets under your skin. Dylan and Chad’s skill for creating slinky dancefloor moments is in full bloom here.

A pair fast becoming one of electronic music’s most prolific duos, offering diverse and quality productions across the full breadth of the house and techno spheres, Butane and Riko Forinson look set to continue their flourishing partnership straight into the new year and beyond. Hot on the heels of an extremely productive 2020, placing EPs on the likes of Little Helpers, Balance Music and Deeperfect, as well as introducing the first three instalments of their new ‘In Concert’ series on Rasse's Extrasketch platform, the duo now kick-off 2021 with a versatile offering on ‘home turf’ as they reveal their dynamic four-track ‘Werk’ EP.

Lead production and club stomper ‘Choppin Wood’ opens proceedings with authority, as a menacing bassline takes hold of an undeniably UK-influenced cut full of energy and drive. ‘Come On’ follows with a deeper yet still chunky house vibe, replete with slick and slinking percussion, hypnotic stabs and a rolling low end. Next up, ‘The Whistle’ sees a paired-back, uptempo effort as the emphasis is placed on groove, with icy hats, refined drums and a steady hypnotic lead line. Closing the show, 'Grind' is a low-slung creeper that does precisely what its title promises, with hypnotic synth work and a mental, down and dirty vibe for the late-night hours.
